racing games get boring fast unless they have a story mode like diddy kong racing
shoot em ups are the worst genre ever
platformers(especially 2d ones) are too hard
first person shooters all look the same especially the new ones

open world games like just cause and gta are alright

FPS games are mostly fun and unique unless they're generic modern/military shooters. I played a ton of those on the GC/Wii and I can't even remember their names now. However I still play Doom wads every now and then because they're still fun and "video gamey" if that makes sense.

RPGs barely have any gameplay. You just turn your brain off, press one button and watch some big numbers floating.
