Assuming OP's post is even real in the first place, if we're now dictating how people spend their time and live their lives and how they use products they've purchased, then let's do it right. We need to police everyone so that they're living life the right way and not committing grave the sin of unhealth. We need 2-3 hour temporary bans after every 4 hours of gameplay, and we need this in every game and for everyone. Same goes for all other media and internet consumption in general. There should be no reason for anyone to play games or watch things on the internet for longer than 4 hours at a time. And it should be capped at 8 hours per day. There is no reason anyone should play vidya for any longer than that. And we need more supervision and restrictions in all other facets of life to make sure people are doing things the right way. If it's all good to impose restrictions on people then we need to do it in a fair, consistent and reasonable way. Also, if you're not getting at least 1 hour of exercise each day then you lose media privileges. No vidya, youtube, movies or anything of the sort if you're not fulfilling your daily quotas for 1 shower, 1 brushing of teeth, and 1 hour of exercise. We need to be consistent here, so restrictions of this nature must be extended to all other facets of life and where people find enjoyment, and where we don't want people to over-indulge. It's a good wake up call, as you put it. And absolutely deserved. You have to enjoy things moderation. If you disagree with those pre-determined standards that others have set for you then too bad, because you simply need help. Others will step in and make sure that you're living life the right way if you do not do it yourself.

/v/ it has been 5 months since I played a game for more than 1 hour a day.
Did I lose interest? Sure I have a job that takes most of my time, but I do other things now (go outside, take pictures, shitpost) in my spare time.
I do remember a some point in my NEET days spending many hours just to get to finish certain games, like RPGs, quickly enough. At least 8 hours trying to get shit done and finishing 2 or 3 segments in a game with about 10-12 in just a day.
