why are the PS2 and the n64 games (which are in Japanese only with no fan translation) still the only ever attempts to make a vidya adaptation of evangelion?

you can't make a good evangelion game because the best parts of eva are the characters having mental breakdowns

It's just not the kind of series that lends itself to good vidya. Being a big dick hero action star isn't really what Shinji is about and it's hard to make a videogame like that isn't that without it becoming a Pathologic tier thing.
