Same day launches on PC are unlikely because the PS5 PRO only outputs 30 frames per second whereas the PC can easily do 15x more while maintaining the same fidelity. This move could destroy their hardware sales and ultimately lead to much lower mid-long term profits. It's a dumb move and it's likely that the PS5/PC tag will only apply to future Concordlikes such as Marathon.

On the one hand the extra money from the double dip is nice, but if they release games on PC day and date then the PC version can benefit from the marketing blitz at the regular release, potentially netting more sales of the PC version and more money for Sony. Tech is moving much faster than what game's require. The ROI on making games look better is nowhere near what it used to be. e.g., $600m budget games where most of the cost is going into graphics where a $100m game would have graphics that were 90% as good. That last 10% just isn't worth it, and hardware has accomplished all it needs to at this point. All that's left is miniaturization.

There is no reason to make more powerful hardware when games aren't being made that need it because production of those games is far too risky and expensive.
