Holy shit I miss this so much I literally miss when people actually had some control over what they play. If you didn't like the maps people in a certain server voted for then you could just go find another one that mostly plays the ones you like. I actually miss community servers in games so much and it's a shame that they didn't die out but were blatantly murdered.

It actually was, Valve C&D'd a bunch of cheat software githubs and took legal possession of a large number of Steam account generator domains. On top of tracking down the actual bot hosters (including one retard here on 4chan who started doing it "because it sounded fun" just before Valve went final solution) and threatening their entire steam accounts, they crippled the methods used to make more bots and proved they know who is making the bots and where they're coming from.

It wasn't Youtubers, that's an autistic hate-boner for Youtubers.
