It's not just nikkes, to me the biggest issue is that the antagonists never die. It takes all gravitas out of the story when we keep doing literal team rocket antics with the same few heretics over and over again. It got especially awful around the crystal region arc with the four beasts. We fought and beat Behemoth how many times? And then she's back few discussions later without a scratch. It's gotten stupid at this point, even in Goddess Fall Chatterbox and Indivilia literally vanish like team rocket multiple times.

We barely knew about Nihilister for almost 2 years, and she only came back to disappear again for the story, but not before getting a small build up on her backstory. You don't do that if you are not going to bring back a character. As for Isabel and Harran, things may look grim but that's the point.

DEEP was able to keep RH virtually immortal inside Rapi's body. There's a lot of DEEP tech out there (or in there...) that can change the situation. But again, that may take time, considering that we just started Neon's arc, and that's deeply connected to deep.

Honestly, as much as I complain about Shift-up there's already plenty of stakes in Nikke without having to kill off characters. Additionally, there are some characters that are still alive in the story that really should be dead (Crow and Yunni), and many characters that are alive in name only and are actually dead. (Anyone who's gone through a mindswitch, Exia, etc). I just didn't expect them to "kill" Harran and Isabel so fast, because outside of their bond and a few chapters they haven't had the chance to do anything notable or develop yet. Seems dumb to give Isabel a wedding skin and then merc her a few months later, especially since she needed a treasure or a kit refresh.

nihilister hid lilith's headless corpse just to fuck with the queen, thinking about how she can use the body as bait to fuck the queen.
present day, nihilister had lilith corpse fused to her body, and ate a vapaus bullet to use lilith body as a trojan horse to fuck the queen.
the plan worked, but nihilister got destroyed in the process. the rapture queen was killed, but it seems that the lilith corpse was still usable and she completed the set, migrating into lilith body and head as a new queen.
so, she looks like lilith, but i can assure you that's not lilith at all. but who knows? maybe her memories are still trapped inside the queen, like what happened with anachiro.
Hell, there's even the posibility that lilith was another rapture queen, like what's happening right now in the story. all we know is that lilith was the very first nikke that was created.

That's wholly contingent on whether or not the queen takes Rapunzel out with the first lift shot. The queen wants the space station connected to earth, that's why she didn't just go full blast on destroying the lift, and the only reason she managed to devastate the Grimms mk 2 squad to that level is because none of them is a shield unit.

It really highlights the themes of humanity, compassion, and what happens when you do and don't treat people like people. Anis' current storyline heavily reinforces that the Ark still largely treats nikkes as less than human and that leads to issues like Anis' crashout. Enikk treats the outer rim like garbage and that's how you get Crow and EnterHeaven. Most of these things being a result of Enikk's decisions.

Contrasting this is SKK who treats those who consider even themselves monsters like the heretics with humanity and how much of a difference that makes in this fucked up world.
