She's a giant letdown from the kino as fuck Jin, and I use that literally here. The worst parts of the first game was girl power stupidity, and this is the whole goddam game. I don't even understand why they didn't just do what they did with Naoe in AC Shadows because Naoe is how she should be playing and utilized. Atsu shouldn't be going toe-to-toe with men using odachis or anything of the sort in a power play. It makes no sense.

Naoe in AC Shadows only uses a basic ass katana, a tanto, a bo staff, and a kusarigama because she needs quick, light, and fast weapons to exploit openings in the samurai she is fighting and deal with the fact she's a woman. She cannot wear armor and solely wears light clothing so she doesn't restrict herself. She cannot fight men with brute strength, she can't carry dead men quickly to hide their bodies as they're way heavier than her, she's also fairly slow when swimming and trudging through snow.

When you switch to Yasuke suddenly you can carry grown men like it's nothing. You're using long katanas, naginatas, kanabos, bows, and teppos to show you that being a man he can put the strength behind using these weapons and wearing full sets of armor on top of it. He can't climb objects quickly because of the weight of his armor and weapons. When he dodges it's slow Bloodborne shuffles whereas Naoe leaps all over the place quickly. When he swims he moves extremely quickly and snow doesn't affect his movement at all on top of being able to climb up steeper slopes that Naoe immediately slides on.

Ubisoft of all people understood that a woman is not a man. She has limitations that have to be taken into account to sell her actually fighting these people whereas with Atsu she's shown fighting pretty much identical to Jin against the same kind of burly men and it baffles me how they're so blind they can't see how ridiculous that looks.

Shimura would likely be dead considering he was riding to his death to the shogun to commit sudoku. Even if he didn't and the shogun gave him a stay of his execution/stopped his sudoku he'd just be training soldiers. They pretty much said everything they had to say at the end of the game, and if they proceeded further with them trying to reconcile it just wouldn't work at all because Shimura truly believes in honor over reality while Jin has no regrets about what he did.

The poem was supposed to be for Jin, Shimura was put in control of the island. I had an idea where the next game would take place in the interim where the Shogun sends new lords to replace the ones who were killed and one of them is a massive asshole that treats the people poorly and is gunning for Shimura’s position. Also, all the main weapons suck compared to all the 2ndary side weapons. A full bow build is broken. A full Kunai build that light enemies on fire is broken. Even just picking up random weapons and throwing them is broken. And if you upgrade the wolf enough.... just throwing empty sake jar is broken because it will summon a wolf for a 1 hit ko on any enemy.

I'll give you a couple just from what I've seen from clips and other bits of the game, but I won;'t even consider buying the thing until it comes to PC.

Fucking AC Shadows with Naoe does the "mask weirdos hurt my family and I, revenge time" better and has AC fuckery too so that should tell them something. GoT had an interesting story element that was both traditional samurai themes mixed with an unusual enemy in the Mongolian invasion at a time before the sengoku, and a good antagonist.
>Atsu is supposed to be Ainu and the conflict between Honshu's shogunate invading into Hokkaido and the Ainu people is supposed to be a crux of the issue, but with a few tiny collectible exceptions Ainu's character or story is not really culturally Ainu
There's one outfit that's a traditional pattern, there are NPCs that have the tattoo but she doesn't, she plays a shamisen not their traditional instrument, and I think Yotei itself i a fucking anachronism at the time the game takes place as nobody used that term. You'd think her attacks would all be named after Ainu lore stuff, which leads me to

Jin takes a LONG time becoming the Ghost and doesn't use Ghost abilities until that point- you were never signaled in advance or or what the Ghost of Tsushima was, until Jin who has been a thorn in the side of the Mongol horde managed to rally disparate others to help repel their control of a castle after he fucking decapitates one of the greatest enemy generals - the fear and legend is built. Atsu does nothing similar - its WAMAN SCREAM MAN FALL OVER as soon as she heals from being attacked and some random bandits go from superior numbers and ready to cut her to pieces into utter fear as she walks slowly toward them. Fucking unacceptable.

There are so many fuckups its sad that the rest of the game is beautiful. I hope the Legends mode has Ainu myth

This would be a massive loss if we were supposed to get another Jin game. Atsu and the concept as a whole focused on another outlying island is fine, but they didn't commit to it and did some of the stupidest possible things. The stance switching in Jin's game made sense, but the magical pulling a spear or nodachi out of noewhere shit made the already girlbossy nonsense seem far worse atop all the other things . Having multiple weapons would have been fine if theyt just handled it a bit differently; they could have done chanbara things, or onnamusha things but they didn't do any of it...to say nothing for the
