it is mostly a recognition that the reddit rivalry was and still is incredibly forced and astroturfed and all of the paranoia surrounding it ended up with an enormous brain-drain on 4chan's creativity, aided and abetted by mods not slaughtering anybody that tried to shriek and shit and chase off any OC they saw because "reddit might repost it" heedless of course of the fact that the people shrieking about reddit reposting things were the ones reposting things themselves, sometimes tattling on 4chan about it within seconds of reddit reupload
