Sure, the artstyle is by all means the main driving factor. I give you that complete. I am also not saying a breast slider would ACTUALLY give bad press I should re-clarify.
They believe that it will, though. Or should I say, the balance between what they convince themselves to think on the subject tilts towards that so they can justify not spending the extra bit of effort for that on female characters unless they can justify it for male characters as well.
You'll notice most games with breast sliders these days have them both for male and female characters nowadays. It revolves back to the logic of cutting those corners, then circles back to worth per press brownie point if they can't.
>How are they not horny nerds?
Because they don't like what losers do. Or what people perceive losers would like.
Enjoying big monster ladies that dominate you or quirky chungus musclewomen is a "weirdo" thing, but it's not a loser thing. It's still liking something for being bizarre. Rather than being an ugly, socially incapable person that idolizes beauty they can't feasibly ever access and must therefore play games where they will always be accepted by the object of their desire, a loser mentality by all everyday standard, even if ironically they are both equally unachiveable.
Still. One nonetheless makes you the funny weirdo in the eyes of people, and the other makes you a desperate loser.
