Yeah, this is a huge sticking point for me too. I want the complicated bullshit factor because it's fun to figure out and play with.

I feel it, I loved the Killzone games for their use of bullpup weapons and the aesthetics were top. That's why I personally love Arc. That world and the lo-fi look and feel of everything. Mechanical keyboards and CRT screens with green script. Basically the Nostromo everywhere you go. I don't play any MP games now and I've preferred SP and co-op for about a decade but I really like Arc Raiders gameplay loop.

I don't think the people who saw the extraction shooter craze were interested in replicating the actual interesting part of Tarkov. Bungie wanted to dumb it down too. They just see this game mode as the next big thing.

You have to start at the beginning of a wipe a be prepared to nolife it for at least a month. It will ruin every other fps for you if you get into it though.

EFT is just the king at what they do, the only other extract game I enjoyed playing was Arena Breakout Infinite and even that was tame.

That's why Marathon is going to fail, they dont have anything, there's no zero risk scav runs, there's no flea-market, the rarity is a joke.
That's why Arc Raiders is going to die in a few weeks.

There really aren't any extract shooters that hit like Tarkov.

Probably your gamma setting. Or go into an offline raid and play with postfx settings for a while but be aware that some settings will impact performance. You get used to the look of the game eventually.

I don't care about gun autism. In fact I hate it when the game forces me to check whether I have 5.5mm ammo for my gun instead of 5.7mm ammo. I get the appeal but light/medium/heavy ammo system lets me focus on the fun aspects of the game (the inventory/crafting systems in ARC Raiders is so fucking shit though, I wish it did let me focus on the fun aspects).

Gotta say the most interesting part to me initially was the atmosphere of the game. The music combined with the brutality of that depressing ass world is just badass. The adrenaline rushes and intricacies sealed the deal for me though.

Tarkov is not primarily "extraction shooter". Tarkov is Strikeball simulator, perfect game for those gun autists who actually go shoot each other in t he woods in real life regularly. Theres really no alternative for Tarkov, since only other "realistic" military game, ARMA, is not focusing on that.

Yeah, I liked spt but eventually felt like it was too easy, had too much loot and didn't give me the highs or asshole puckering moments like pvp. It is fun as a tutorial though.

You can tweak it to your liking but personally I just enjoyed building the hideout and leveling up skills + gun mastery. Duckov scratches that itch for now but when 1.0 drops with an actual story it will something I can play for 100hrs or so and forget. People who play PvP want to play for thousands of hours, I can't spend that much time on a single game. Even back when I was a poorfag teen who couldn't afford anything but The Orange Box and play HL2 mods, I didn't spend more a lot more than 1k hours on TF2.
