Majogami
Steam has finally lifted the ban! Majogami is out now. The game is cute, funny and fun. Let's support one of the few Japanese developers left that still makes games out of passion instead of pushing agendas!
Anonymous No.725183312 [Report]
Hear that, gamers? That's the sound of a Jaoanese developer going bankrupt very shortly.

I tried the demo. It felt like your character was walking underwater, and the combat mostly consisted of spamming one button. I really liked the visuals though. Was it just a bad demo and is the full game any better?
Anonymous No.725184372 [Report]

It's a fairly mediocre action platformer by has-been Japanese dev Inti Creates
But your response is basically why i didn't play Gunvolt for a long time. Screenshots make it hard to tell what the fuck genre it even is because by default the screen is like 50% covered by a translucent dialogue overlay that makes it completely unplayable

it's a gunvolt-like with bad level design and no score system.

The demo makes you really OP. It's set to easy mode and has a lot of upgrades you wouldn't normally have by that point of the game.
The general gameplay loop is the same though, just that enemies can actually kill you in the full game.
Anonymous No.725184572 [Report]
>>725184346
The game isn't as much setsuna spam as the demo would suggest, they do try to introduce countermeasures on enemies. I find them mostly tedious to deal with though especially because a lot of the time you get hit feels like bullshit because they have inadequate or nonexistent tells for suddenly spawning hurtboxes or whatever

I played the demo and it was pretty tedious on top of being the perfect example of "style over substance" so I won't bother.

Majogami is "okay", but Inti used to make games a lot better than this.
Inti's decline is a bizarre thing considering they don't seem to have had any major staff changes over the years or anything, yet almost everything they're released in like the past 5 years has been average at best, unfinished slop at worst.
Anonymous No.725187834 [Report]
>>725187294
I disagree, Gunvolt 3 was 2022 and that's one of my favourite Inti games. It was specifically after the first Gal Guardians game when they suddenly forgot level design. Sure they'd sometimes come up with dumb ideas before, but iX2 didn't exactly have bad levels. Now it's the full combo of bad gameplay concepts and inept level/enemy design

>Inti's decline is a bizarre thing considering they don't seem to have had any major staff changes over the years or anything

The main reason Inti has been in the decline in the past few years is because they've consistently been putting too much on their plate at once and spreading their resources and manpower too thin

They're just making too many games too quickly. Or rather they have one massive project (Like Gunvolt 3 or Card en Ciel), but still greenlight a bunch of other smaller projects (Like iX2 or SoTD) that end up half baked because the big project is a black hole sucking up all their resources

They need to slow the fuck down, basically

Inti Creates will be celebrating its 30th anniversary next year. But it gets absoluted mogged by newer, smaller indie companies because it has lost all passion and is content with churning out slops after slops targeting the lowest common denominator otaku and weebs.

This reminds me, I like D-Nizer mode in GV3 for the most part, but the Flashfield effect is so fucking overbearing and bosses already have attacks that make it hard to see what's going on and it just makes bosses feel completely illegible. The stages are fun at least.
Anonymous No.725199114 [Report]

D-Nizer is the peak way to experience GV3’s level design
I do agree that the bosses can devolve into visual clutter as GV (though learning to lv 3 spark dash spam is usually the optimal way to fight them as opposed to flashfield)

I'm looking on the website and I see that there's like scrolls that give her extra moves. How do these work, is it a consumable item or a permanent extra move that you equip? Is there a decent variety? I see that there's like a kick one.
Anonymous No.725205250 [Report]
>>725205081
The moves are permanently unlocked once you buy the scrolls.
There's only like 4 of them and the moves barely even matter.
It's a very weird design choice.
