Fuck you Niggerta
Its not so bad but as an example Tarkov has the most obscure shit in tasks and very often the task itself doesnt give you any information where to find them
Then you have a classic funny joke perhaps by the devs where you have to locate BTR wheels and mark them
So from experience you are used to just "press G" whenever you find something interactable and you could end up marking a pile of wheels that are NOT for a BTR and end up failing the quest as a "reward"
And they purposely made that SINGLE quest different where you can actually fail it because FUCK YOU

But that definition of a "wiki game" is fucking retarded. Wiki Games are games where you NEED a wiki or some outside source of information if you don't want to miss many important events. Elden Ring for example, as soon as you burn the tree you HAVE to revisit, pretty much, all locations just to see what might have changed. If you don't do that you will miss a lot. There are teleporters hidden in nooks and crannies that lead you to totally new zones but if you just don't come across those, you will never see them. Remnant 2 is another one of those games. There are shoot puzzles in that game that, if you don't already know that they are there, you will miss out on a bunch of boss encounters. There are no notes or any other hints, the game just expects you to know.

Anonymous No.725198346 [Report]

In the case of Terraria I already explored and figured it all out on my own without a wiki and the wiki just helps me refresh my memory because there's a fuck huge number of items I can't be bothered to keep in my permanent memory for when I do a playthrough every few years. Modded compounds this problem by doubling or tripling the numbers of items in the game so I can't complete a playthrough in a reasonable amount of time otherwise. Though a lot of this gets offloaded with mods like recipe browser and boss checklist so I don't actually need to pull up the wiki very often anymore. Fortunately, I find the hunt for items fun even if it's an essentially predetermined list of stuff I'm looking for, just because it is enjoyable to take a character from zero to hero on my own. So I don't mind using a wiki now, though I'm fortunate that the wiki was not nearly as fleshed out when I was learning the game so I could get a more authentic experience

Going through the base game is retardedly easy
If you can put together anything basic in your wand that does damage and doesnt kill you you are good to go
You dont need to kill anything but the last boss anyway

The "base" game of Noita is laughably easy but its difficult only because people find so many ways of killing themselves early

I very much agree with that sentiment but i guarantee you 90%(yes, i'm sure it's that many) souls-game-players have the wiki or some form of guide open on a second screen and look everything up as soon as they are confronted with a choice or enter a new zone. Every time one of those FOTM souls games comes out /v/, /vg/, reddit and twitch streams are full of people playing the game at the same time. It's not really "tryharding". The chances for a Planetarium get a lot higher with certain items so if you get them it's worth considering skipping them since Planetarium items are generally amazing. It's just item knowledge like the rest of the game. And if you're ascending, you can even collect the rooms you skipped anyway. Beyond that, the Planetarium can be a consolation prize if you end up not having a key for the treasure room and are forced to skip. Or if you're speedrunning for marks and don't want to take the time to find it.

It totally depends on the amount of secret content and whether or not the game is hinting at it. In DA Origins there is a dragon boss fight in orzammar that the game never explicitly mentions but as soon as you interact with the puzzle pieces it becomes obvious that it's a puzzle. The statues that you need to shoot to trigger the boss in Remnant 2 offer no feedback at all and the bosses just appear. That is where i draw the line.

I never opened noita wiki and its clear from in-game wands that a wand that has per-shot effect combined with chainsaw spell is broken AF.
BUT you have to play for longer than 3 hours to find out.

To be honest i don't remember anymore. I think i had one half, got the elevator, couldn't do anything and just moved on. And by the time i picked up the second half i had forgotten about the elevator and never returned? I don't want or need on screen markers for that game but i would have loved some sort of quest or event log or just something that goes "hey, dumbass, you just picked up a key item. *hint*hint*" Either that or it's a legit secret.

The only thing that wasn't sufficiently clear was Nether portals. There were no indications that you could arrange obsidians in that specific manner and light it to reach the Nether. That was fixed with the ruined portals, though. Everything else was trial and error and trying to mix things. Eventually you'd get an Eye of Ender, and use it and eventually get to a Stronghold, and be smart enough to try using the Eye in the thing it's leading you to.

Always has been. There should be no wikis, there should be no guides, there shouldn't even be any tutorials in the game. You should find out everything yourself, and just live with not finding/getting everything if you can't do that.

Fwiw, a fair amount of that comes from code diving depending on the game. If not that, it can take months of effort from multiple people to get a good read on some things. This obviously doesn't apply to retarded shit anyone can do like finding X item or activating Y event, but it does matter for things you have to plan around in advance like builds and certain RNG mechanics.
