Just confirming the game was released way too early, it wasn’t well thought out, and now they’re trying to fix everything with buffs. In Genshin, it took years to add buffs, and they’re almost irrelevant because everything is meticulously calculated. Powercreep Rail is powercreep rail.
Although I think the biggest problem is the story and the people in charge of the dialogue. There isn’t a single line or scene worth taking a screenshot of.

Yeah, people do raise a big stink about power creep in the endgame... But what we need to understand is that majority of players do not actually care about that at all.
Most people follow the story, and pull the characters that they like, and then use them for a bit. That is strong point of HSR and Genshin, they actually get people invested in the characters and story long term, often hyping them up well before their dedicated patch, and having them be relevant even after it.
Meanwhile ZZZ story-telling is very patch-to-patch, and while there's connecting elements, for most part the story feels like stand-alone episodes.
...Though this might just be my own subjective view. Different stories vibe with different people, after all.

Current meta is one onfield DPS, one off-field stunner and one off-field support. For Yixuan the best supp and stunner are Lucia and Ju Fufu since they buff her the most, other support options for Yixuan are Astra Yao or Pan, other stunners are Trigger or Pulchra. Most agents have a passive that require another character of the same faction or element or a certain archetype be in the team which is something you want to work around as well.

I quit the game a couple patches ago since I wasn't having fun, but a jane skin is tempting...

arena battlers tend to be repetitive
hsr succeeds because it's something you can pick up and put down in less than an hour, without having to manually play it
meanwhile genshin is an actual open world game that provides a console quality experience despite being a gacha game
there were several things they could've done to at least make it bearable, like the co op thing they're going now, which they could've added to all modes besides shiyu so players can make the daily grind less boring and give whales and paypigs a chance to show off their shit in one go
