You can tell from the file size this isn't the case. Kirby Air Riders is a spinoff of a 20 year old gamecube game and is 20gb Metroid Prime 4 is a cross gen switch 1 release and is 30gb. These are big games already, later releases like Zelda, Animal Crossing and Smash will be even bigger. I bet Zelda and Animal Crossing max out the 64gb card, and AC will probably require you download extra shit on top of that.

One problem is that Nintendo cannot even reduce the scope and release lower-budget games. It is literally impossible for one of their games to cost, say, $20, when the 64GB SD Card they are using in the Switch 2 must already cost close to that just to manufacture.
They need to continue with super valuable games costing $70, $80, now $90 (DK with DLC), but they can't just spit in the face of fans like GameFreaks does.

The majority of the games the released so far were meant to be Switch 1 games meaning what we got so far have been ports.
Mario Kart World, Bananza, Age of Imprisonment, all supposed to be Switch 1 games but move to Switch 2. The only Switch 2 exclusive made for the Switch 2 is Drag X Drive.
And those are just the exclusives.

Makes sense since the s2's line up feels very "late into a consols lifespan". A niche remake like airiders feels on par with something like brothership. I guess bannanza really was meant to be the s1's next big hitter, but got forced into the role of being a launch title, which drastically hurt its sales. 2.5 mil or whatever is ok, but keep in mind that puts it on pace with shadow gens and crossworlds, not odyssey and botw. And if the games keep going at this pace, its not going to pick up. If the most recent Nintendo platformer is faltering, then no way are niche spin offs and ips gonna do well either. All this talk of console sales but the only one sticking is mkworld, and thats exclusively because of the bundle. So, what does this thing even have going for it? Brand loyalty? Excited to see what s2 games built from the ground up are like? Who knows all long thats going to be. If Sakura is on Kirby then its another decade of ultimate. If bannanza was the odyssey team, unless they're operating with a split dev cycle, then who knows when the next major mario will be. There just isnt anything. Yoshi? FE? Thats why i soecified those two specifically. Botw had an attachment rate of close to 100% where bannanza has only a bit over a 20% attachment rate.
