The way the gibs etc in Citadel/Beyond Citadel appear is very 'anatomically correct' - so you'll have an upper torso with visible lungs and spinal column etc. If you shoot a head off, you get a detached head in a face of terror. At the same time, there's relatively little blood so it can feel more like you're just disassembling anime girls to look at the bits inside.
Compare and contrast with something like Doom or Unreal Tournament, where hitting someone with a rocket causes them to explode into a shower of blood and low fidelity meat/bone chunks. It's gory, but in the sense that Evil Dead is gory or a cheesy 80s horror movie is gory.

it's an okay game, it's like if hideaki anno was an incel and decided to make some tacticool fps
there's a lot of cool ideas in the game, but also a lot of flaws (which are excused because single dev), the music's great, the art is pretty good overall, the gunplay is very good, the movement is.... mediocre, and it's got a million fucking bugs that are annoying to deal with
