because people buy it as a default game console. exclusives aren't that important to the people who buy these consoles. Out of the 80 million games sold on the PS5 last quarter, only 6.3 million were first party titles. Average person probably just buys some shooter (COD, Battlefield), some AAA (Assassin's Creed, MHWi etc) and calls it a day. they don't care about whether you can play the game on PC for better.

Here is the definitive, real reason for everyone wondering. Because it is a GAME CONSOLE designed to PLAY GAMES. It's not a Microsoft Xbox Series Faggot that specializes in browsing the internet and watching twitch simultaneously, while also serving you ads on the homescreen to subscribe to the shovelware version of netflix. Long story short, Microsoft shit the bed by refusing to understand that people buy GAME CONSOLES to PLAY GAMES, and Sony won by making a product that is "not shit" to coin a phrase.

The switch 2 cant run arc raiders, elden ring or borderlands 4 though. Its still a far ways off from having all third party. PS is king that regard. And PS5 can play cawadooty at 120fps

It was a nice way to upgrade your PS4 library, was basically like putting a new GPU in your PC and now all your games run at higher settings. Mebbe that's not worth it for some people but my PS4 was on it's last legs and I was pissed off and how appalling badly Resident Evil 4 ran. The only outright PS5 games I've actually bought for it and not got as free upgrades have been Silent Hill 2 and WWE 2K25. Will probably get round to Alan Wake 2 at some point, but there's very little on offer that interests me.

You can't even make folders for game organization for the home screen. The OS is shit, but being able to play my entire PS4 library and sometimes receive a free PS5 version upgrade is nice. I can't think of anything else this version offers other than that over the PS4. Disappointed to no end.

I think it'll be my last console desu. I'm 37 now and there is next to nothing modern gaming has for me anymore. That's fine though, you age out of things, it's finally happening to me with music as well. I just wanted a machine that would futureproof my current library for a while and I have a shitty PC for emulation, retro, indie and anything up to around 7th gen or so as well as a little CRT with a PS2 and a Wii hooked up, I think I'm set. I spent some time trying to platinum the PS3 version. I started playing that 2 months before Atlas killed the servers, so I had a bit of trouble. I still fell victim to the Pure Bladestone meme.
The remake is giving me equal trouble over character tendency, butt I will figure it out.
I have noticed that Bloodborne on the PS5 is a little strange, same with Sekiro. It might be my controller, but I swear sometimes inputs are mixed up or dropped entirely.

The PS5 appearance, at least on my PS5 Slim disc edition, is just different console version UI themes. I use the PS2 one, but I haven't found a way to use a custom background that isn't a video game screenshot yet.

Because it's the market leader, most gamers who don't own a good gaming PC are better off buying a PlayStation 5 (market leader, main console) + Switch (companion console) combo.

Both the PlayStation 5 and the Switch don't have exclusives due to PC ports of Sony games and PC emulation of Nintendo games / minigames, but this doesn't make any difference for a non-PC gamer.
