No. It's top 5 though. SNES n64 GC ps3 then ps2. Ps2 as a console had more sales, but everything else had way more impact culturally. PS3s catalogs for better or worse literally shaped the future of normie gaming.

Gamecube laid the foundations for everything to come after for nintendo stylewise. After they figured out how to render 3d polygons with the n64 their art style refined and hasn't changed since the GC era. PS3 literally started or popularized all the modern IPs for Sonys current generation of games. Along with their shitty movie style. The only big IPs leftover from ps2 era is GoW as a neutered version of itself.

I'd say NES PS1 Wii PS2 Xbox 360.
NES and SNES have mostly the same type of games on them, PS1 had games like FF7 with hours of pre-rendered cutscenes and gave game a real soundtrack, Wii started motion controls, PS2 simply had a lot of games on it, and 360 had online that doesn't stop working for a few months because of Anonymous.

GT started on ps1, and the rest of those are dead ips that don't get games. They tried rebooting some of them, but they really just ended up flopping. I wasn't trying to be disingenuous, but I left sports games out on purpose. I genuinely don't consider them rehashing the same game yearly to be something of relevance. They're literally worse than gacha games at this point. I'd prefer if sports games were actually good/ entertaining like Blitz/ hotshots golf(which also just got a new game maybe this was ps2 first but I think it was ps1), street or the EA sports extreme games like SSX.

I have a lot of games on gamecube I love to this day, and I loved Halo 2, DoA 2U & 3, and Fable enough to justify getting a 360 (which ultimately disappointed, but still)

Alternatively, although PS3 and 360 had some absolute bangers, it enabled groups just as bad as casuals in the tail end of it's lifespan, and gen 8 would solidify those issues

Yes, when analyzing a console's library you need to see the overall library AND the time period, the SNES library was like 9/10 for its time.

Objectively speaking the PS3's library is FAR better than the NES library, but the NES was also 9/10 for its time, the PS3 was somewhat disappointing.

PS2's library was 10/10 for its time, and remains extremely good even to this day. The Switch mentioned here >>725675195 for exemple, has like 4000 games, but it's a very mediocre system with more than half of its very best games being Wii U ports and uninspired sequels.

For me it's probably
PS1 > PS2 > DS > SNES > Sega Genesis/Megadrive > Gameboy > PS3 > NES > Wii > 360 > N64 > PS Vita > Switch > Xbox > PSP > PS4 > losing your foot to gangrene > PS5

Series X, GBA, Dreamcast, etc I have no strong feelings towards because I haven't touched their catalogues. Vita I'm probably rating too high.

Also it is very likely nothing will ever top it because very few games are even exclusive anymore, almost everything is multiplat and on the PC, where the PS2 was not the case.
