Bad news everyone. They were working on a Switch 2 Edition of Fire Emblem Engage with Emblem Alfonse but the poor sales of Engage made them cancel the project. Apparently Nintendo is considering handing over Fire Emblem to Koei Tecmo and putting FEH into maintenance mode while Intelligent Systems becomes a Paper Mario/WarioWare team only. Good news for Fire Emblem as a franchise though as Koei Tecmo will make good games for it.

Chapter 10 and 17 are among the best FE maps, period.
Game encourages you to have classes with different battle styles in order to play optimally. For a bunch of FE games with class changes it's usually best to just make everyone wyvern riders.
Some units are worse than others, and sometimes require unorthodox class changes to make them work better. It's a great challenge to choose certain suboptimal characters to focus on evolving, similar to older FE games. in 3H for example everyone is so flat and uninteresting stat wise that you can mould them to be whatever you wish.
Engage mechanic is fun. Pure and simple. It's like trying to argue why the grapple hook in Just Cause is good. I simply don't need to.

If you don't mind, I'm going to start talking about Fire Emblem -- specifically the R*velations randomiser run (classes, items, and skills only ie no changes to growths) I've been doing. I always forget how miserable this campaign is until I start playing, but my thinking is that the amount of funny units I get will make it at least somewhat enjoyable.

Starting off with Corrin:

Well to get the easy/obvious one out of the way, he's a bad boy bishounen for the otome and fujo crowds.
I wouldn't necessarily say your assessment is wrong, but the character works because he's essentially the opposite of every other Lion he clashes really well with other characters like Dimitri, Ingrid, Sylvain, Ashe off the top of my head.
He has a strong personality, and that just makes him so versatile like depending on if you're playing CF, AM or AG it just feels like he's an entirely different character. He's shockingly well written.
