Very bad for AI in stuff like total war and VR mode.

>>527592161They are fine. In the olden days of the game, you were lead to believe they were the best weapons in the game. Nowadays, that really isn't the case. It's not a one size fits all thing. We have reborn weapons and wicked star weapons. Sometimes, a characters best weapon will be one of those over the limited options. These options help avoid the problem of being pigeonholed into decisive weapons, especially for really bad ones like Noah's (Noah's decisive weapons is makes for a good skin though). You also have exceptions like package weapons(mainly getting three copies free) and even Cherry blossom weapons (best for Granny). They can also provide alternatives to decisive weapons despite not being as f2p. The worst one, though, is when a characters best weapon is their Ambitious weapon (character package). Only one copy and only p2p for around 50 dollars. The point is, there are all these options and more. You can easily survive without them but sometimes, they could be the best option for your favorite character, so it's okay to roll for them once in a while too.

Both were fast charging skills, and both got buffed by skill damage,and both had decent effects with blue (which was the goto Rinko build at the time). With sky edge, things change. Red build Rinko just adds another dash-slice to wind slice. It basically does worse without Soushuu since no skill damage up. Violet slash has a nice damage up bonus with blue but with red, it does a debuff which reduces the enemy's speed by 100%...for one second. It's too little time to make an impact, and there are supporters who can reduce for a longer time. I would recommend Kaede no kata instead. Has a 15% speed boost for ten second (meaning faster normal attacks) AND whenever you proc Kouchouranbu while using sky edge, you get super armor. The super armor will make sure you don't get knocked out of using Kaede no kata (which was originally an issue with blue build Rinko).

Tokikofag here. Here's my impressions on Lan
Disclaimer I didn't got her whale weapon so I am mostly using a 3/5 of her gacha weapon and a 5/5 arena weapon.
Well, shit this was one big disappointment. Lan is very similar to Shiranui in the sense that she has long reaching wide normals and mixture of melee and projectile skills. Much like Shiranui Lan also has gimmick around clones. However whereas Shiranui summons hers as an independent familiar, every 5th use of a skill will have Lan summon her familiar and "echo" the skill at half damage.
Lan's key moves are very vulnerable, Descending Dragon Strike and Binding Barrage have flashy startups and cooldowns which leave her prone to take damage, and Suo Di puts her dead in the heart of danger. Tempest Formation while very quick, safe and covering a wide arc, it's also just as weak as it is fast. Storm Formation is her most damning move, as it's her source of healing and it requires her very open normal string to not just start but also reach later parts in order to get much out of it, which is improbable when you're facing mortal danger..
The star of her moveset is Be Like Cloud, Be Like Water, her 250% Crit damage blue focused skill. As long as you hold the dash button she will continously attack and deal damage whatever is near with super armor and reducing defense making it hit really hard with a consistent crit rate. It never ends and in VR it can be exploited for it's continous skilll based hits to proc stuff like White Feather Asuka continously, however this will reduce it's damage significantly. It's weakness lies in that Lan moves slowly making it easy for enemies to simply walk away leaving you open to attacks, which will come at full damage as this move doesn't give you defense.

Her water clone distracts bosses and her ground lances stun locks normal enemies, so she can easily create openings for her wider normal skills, she has healing moves on the skills that also serve as counterhits, and her strongest moves are in builds that speed her up to make her safer. Shiranui can have versatile playstyles even on builds with similar skills by virtue of her traits.
Lan is the opposite. She has nothing to help her use her unsafe moves. Her dodge skill should pull enemies in but super armoed enemies and bosses aren't pulled in and it doesn't produce any damage meaning she has to put herself out there still. Her taimanin art doesn't give her super armor and she NEEDS it because one of her strongest moves is Storm Formation coming off her final hit and she will never hit with it because she's always getting interrupted in the fights where you need her the most.
Her sand clone gimmick sounds fun in paper but it's very not interactive. it doesn't change how you'd approach her relative to other characters. It happens so rarely it lacks impact. Oh and the follow up of Golden Crusher Staff always misses.
Overall blue is her best build, by a long shot. Overall she's cute looking, but gameplaywise she's Rinko tier.

If you bought her paypig weapon, and 5/5 her supporter you can run her without the yellow skill, just looping damaging green skills. I'd recommend Lan, Wild West Francis, Tempest Lina, Armed Fuuma Saika, Holy Night Hoshino or just generic green Damage. I've been using Lan, T. Lina and A. Saika, which has been working really well despite always being in the particle danger zone.
If you didn't paypig for her then her gacha weapons are kind of forgettable. It's better to just get her SR weapons and either make her an anti-demon Taimanin (80% damage against demons is nothing to sneeze at) or build her blue with Butler Asagi and Kichi Azusa to make up for her slow normal attacks and walk speed.
She doesn't attack enough with either build to bother with the rebellion weapons and her boss damage increase with her other UR just doesn't matter when Glucksheim and adds exists.
She's expensive (not nearly as much as Inage Natsu) but you can tell they designed her around VR use and didn't really expand upon her in any other mode. I say all that and there's probably a supporter in the next 3 months that will make her look like an unstoppable god king but that's the future!
