Let it be known that if it were up to an average PoE1 player, the game would involve zero negative (for player) effects, no debuffs, no detrimental effects, no trade-offs to be made, no decisions to be made, items would have one mod only (rolls either "good" or "bad"), gameplay would essentially be "click to start a cutscene of rapidly changing bright colours on the screen" (of course, no player interaction would be required during the viewing), at end of which a little table (nothing too complicated or mentally demanding) would show up, listing how many [BIG IMPORTANT CURRENCY ITEM]s were assigned to the player characters stash (they automatically would transfer there, no need to manually move them). A single click of a button would teleport the player character instantly to either a boss fight of their choosing or to a map-style content, where cutscene viewing would again take place, followed by the bing-bing-wahoo deposit screen, ad infinitum. League updates, sometimes, would consist of adding a NEW button to the boss/map content selector, which would remain unclicked for days after league launch, as PoE1 average players have no inherent curiosity nor drive towards experimentation. The second-button clicker statistical outliers would be mocked and ridiculed, as obviously doing so would impair the bing-bing-wahoo collecting. Then, in the second week, one of the Thought Leaders would start preaching the validity of the Second Button and the entire playerbase would abandon the original boss/map button clicking for the newly added one. Every league the same scenario would play out, in the same fashion. This is not only what average PoE1 player wants, this is what already is in place, up to a certain point.

If ARPGs are ever to make a comeback, these "people" must be driven out of game communities. And the only way to to do that is to kill the streamer Thought Leaders. 0.2 did a fine job with it's humiliation ritual, but this is just the first step.

The problem with 3.26 is that the content is half assed and the mercs are overtuned. The game itself is great, but people were obviously hoping more, after a year of waiting. This is also supposedly a expansion, but definitely doesn't feel like it.

Trying to play Warden on league start made me wish I still had Raider in the game. Way too many buttons to be clicking and way too little uptime for Avatar of the Wilds. One d/c, one insta-gib because of some mercs (lol fuck your pdr), or portal out for a trade means you lose all progress to 100 stacks.

One of my old builds. You can easily tone down the tankyness for damage, as you're no doubt playing softcore, remove the timeless jewel and have great damage from day 1. Flicker has technically been sustainable for a while now. But nobody has been starting it since it's fucking suicide to do so. You NEED to kill everything before their attack animation finishes and you instantly die. Being able to sustain your charges to endlessly flicker doesn't matter since frenzy sustain isn't what makes flicker a good skill. It's the potential to be one of the highest damaging skills in the game. Which requires hundreds of divines to reach.
Your leaguestarter flicker with 600k damage is just going to get your ass blasted and hard stuck in yellow maps.

I think I understand now why 90% of the community doesn't map. It's just really annoying if you're not into self-competition (improving your character, making him progress, setting yourself challenges like killing such and such a boss or looting such and such an item). If it's just narrative progression you're interested in, then the campaign is the ideal place, so you'll go back several times just to play a new role in the campaign and save Wraeclast.
