I think one of the biggest problems with wuwa character design is that some of them are too complicated.

It should matter, at least to us who supposedly care about accuracy, since we care a lot about a work being TRANSlated. The canon script is Chinese. I remember anons complaining one of Cantarella's stories in her profile had the English not match up very well to the Japanese, though I forgot what it was. When I compared both languages to Chinese, it was actually English that matched quite closely to the Chinese, with Japanese having the most fanfiction.
You can also compare Phoebe's combat voicelines between Chinese and Japanese. In Chinese, she shouts loudly and energetically, but she sounds way more subdued in Japanese.

Invest in 1 main team and then make 2-3 teams with your favourite characters who can synergize somewhat well with their outros, including the 4* . Replace those you don't like over time with better options. Whenever you get lucky with the 5* consider an upcoming or current DPS's weapon.

We seem to be heading towards mono element teams with their own gimmicks. Because of rerun banners you can get 1 puzzle piece at a time and save for reruns.
For example you can get Cartethyia now and skip a character so you can get Ciaccona on rerun. With those and Aero Rover you will have an Aero team someday. It's slow but that way you will get a team in every element over time or upkeep with 2-3 elements once enough time has passed. It's the price of f2p.

Carth is already a total brick without S3 if you don't have Cia, and even at S3 she's still pretty weak and unreliable rotation wise without Cia. Not having her sword is just making her literally 4 star level with no reason to ever play her.

Lupa seems to be a bit less reliant on other team bullshit so her situation isn't as dire but most of the 5 star cast in WuWa is not actually playable without their sig.

I actually need a kelpie, since I don't have a great one for carty or aerover
I don't 'need' a fleur echo (I have a good one for subs, it just rolled low on crit stats)

Kelpie dies and respawns so fast it feels like a waste to use the guaranteed drops on it
Fleur on the other hand is a total cunt to farm so even while I don't need one now if I ever one to min/max or get a better second one for aerover I'd regret not having a few to work with maybe

Am I playing Carthy wrong? I think I have a total grasp of her rotation and even with A.Rover's outro buff and Verina's outro buff (I prefer it over Sanhua cause its a 35% total damage buff compared to just BA buff), my attacks during Fleur mode hit around just 2k each and the big sword move hits only around 7k per hit. And yes that is during the 12s buff.
I know I only have one copy of her and her sig but still I expected way more damage than this.

There was an Encore voiceline (I think when she was low HP or when she died) that she screamed "save me brother Aalto" or something like that, you can check because every character has 3 voices for that but Encore has only 2. I think it was a good thing that it got removed BTW.
