How many nightlords have you slain, /dsg/?

I started with the original Dark Souls, loved it and later played Demon's Souls and think it's on par. I later played all the other games half a year after their release. They all feel like a fourteen year old's interpretation of these games.
Which is to say they are enjoyable but nothing more.

I also think Fromsoft by now has made it clear they do not wish to ever make something that feels like an actual Dark Souls II.

Go somewhere else and farm souls, upgrade your weapon, then come back stronger. You can go past where the blacksmith is to Darkroot Garden. Try using a shield as you can block the gargoyles' non-fire attacks, this is easier than timing your rolls perfectly. Another tip is when there's two of them dont lock on and move the camera manually, this takes getting used to but its the best way to fight duos. Also idk if you are using controller or kb+m but I found the game significantly easier when using a controller since it was originally not made for pc.
Gargoyles took me many attempts on my first playthrough too there's no shame in struggling with them they can be tough for a new player.

I'm on the Artorias fight right now, and I'm having the exact opposite experience. I am become a dexweab. I was getting annoyed that I was constantly getting hit when I felt that I could have dodged the hits in light equipment, and I felt too restricted in my possible actions.
I switched to a light load to make the run back humiliation ritual fastere, then switched to a faster weapon and now I'm having more fun and seem to be catching up to where I was before.
Bloodborne was my first Fromsoft game, and I really liked the strength weapons in that game, but the Zweihander is the only one in DS1 that felt good to me. I can't make enemies flinch with any other heavy weapon and I end up eating damage. Do you have to equip the heaviest possible armor and play like a based retard to make it work?

I liked it, depending on why you disliked Vein, your experience can vary.
If you got filtered by Cathedral, you will have a bad time.
Levels/Exploration is one of the strong points of the game, combat is not that hard and there is way less build variety than Vein, but it the hitboxes are pretty neat.

Have you actually played Code Vein?
Having no fixed stats and instead getting your stats from over 40 different Blood Codes (essentially classes) you can swap on the fly to utilize hundreds of different Gifts/Spells is what it was all about.
Of course you could also not engage with any of that and just hit shit with a pipe (AI Limit lets you do the same, so it was an instant win for me)

Dear Fellas. I can't believe how fast things move in erg. I played coop once when I was a kid, but now it’s everywhere. Fromsoft went and got itself in a big damn hurry. The servers got me into a game with randoms, and a job bagging nightlords in Limveld. It's hard work. I try to keep up, but my hands hurt most of the time. I don't think my coop partners like me very much. Sometimes after a failed game I jump back in ds1 to use the red orb at oolacile. I keep thinking I’ll invade a host, but I never do. I hope wherever he is, he's doing okay and making new friends. I have trouble sleeping at night. I have -- bad dreams, like I'm falling. I wake up scared. Sometimes it takes me a while to remember where I am. Maybe I should family share ds3 and turn on godmode so I can invade at tiff and barrage hosts with firebombs from the sky. I could point down while I was at it, sort of like a bonus. I guess I'm too old for that sort of nonsense anymore. I don't like it here. I'm tired of being afraid all the time. I've decided not to stay. I doubt they'll kick up any fuss. Not for a red man like me.

Nah dude, if one third of your Boss fight is fighting camera and environment and one third is fighting the controls then that's just bad design.
I know autists will read guides, train their muscle memory and no-hit kill these things at level 1 all day but the demand to just get a sorta clean fight with no summons out of these bosses has reached critical bullshit level. I have finally completed DS1 to the very end.
I tried multiple times to kill Gwyn while using the lock-on and failed. I tried just once tapping the camera stick freehand and I won. I thought that I ought to use it for parrying, but no. Everything is easier with a manual camera. Lock-on just makes everything harder.
They've been making rollslop for nearly 20 years and they won't fix the fucking camera. If the next game doesn't make improvements, peal the director's fucking skin off.
I still really liked the first half of the game.

I'm 110 hours into DS2 sotfs and haven't beaten the game yet. The only things I have left are the snowy place, Shulva city, and Brume Tower. I just got to the iron passage in brume Tower.

Should I bother? These late game dlc areas are kicking my ass even at lv180 with maxed out Havel. This has been a 100% offline playthrough btw so no carries.

Half true. First playthrough is magical and can be checklisted. However the intended experience is not to do that. It is designed for adhd exploration. And Beyond the first playthrough you should never be a completionist.

Bloodgems. I have one that gives about 26% physical damage increasebut reduces attacks to beasts by 11%
I have another similar one except the reduction affects kin.
Equipping these yields the highest numbers on the weapon preview, however, not by that much and I have uncursed gems that don't have the reduction but only about 21% damage increase.
So what is a hunter to do?

I use the saw-cleaver. And would like to keep an allround build. I don't constantly want to swap gems.
