How do you use the Battalion's Backup? The sentry damage reduction is completely irrelevant. The damage resistance is not enough to be the deciding factor in any big push. If compfags ban a weapon because they find that it harms their meta, that's fine. Nobody thinks the Reserve Shooter is overpowered in 12v12.
The problem is that Valve looks at these bans and doesn't seem to understand that the compfags' 6s format with a heavily curated ruleset and the looser 12v12 casual format are two completely different games with completely different balancing. 6s players ban weapons because they're overpowered or unfun in THEIR format which is COMPLETELY DIFFERENT from 12v12. Just because compfags are banning a weapon in their format does NOT mean that it's remotely problematic in 12v12.

Another issue arises when people like Uncle Dane and SolarLight defend these weapon nerfs, claiming that the comp players are not to blame, (which is true), but they fail to provide context.
6s and 12v12 are COMPLETELY DIFFERENT GAMES WITH DRASTICALLY DIFFERENT RULESETS AND WEAPON BALANCE IS AFFECTED BY THESE CONTRASTING RULESETS, TEAM SIZES, CLASS LIMITS, AND MAP POOLS. Some of the weapons compfags deem overpowered, such as the old caber that could 1shot Medics, are completely fine in casual because of the difference in format. In 6s, a demoman could equip the sticky jumper and pretty easily get to a Medic with his caber due to the smaller team sizes. In casual, a Demoman trying to do the same would likely get shut down by sentries or shot out of the sky by the Medic's pocket Heavy. Heavy and Engineer, two forms of counterplay for the Demoman suicide caber strategy, aren't to be seen in 6s.
It's actually pretty rare to see a weapon that's considered overpowered in both 6s and 12v12, the only examples I can think of are the Wrangler and the Vaccinator, which were oddly untouched by the Jungle Inferno patch.
Valve doesn't seem to understand that comp 6s and casual 12v12s are entirely different games with entirely different balancing. Trickle-down balancing is retarded, because as previously discussed, many of the "overpowered" weapons in comp 6s are completely fine in 12v12 casual.
But you don't see retards like SolarLight or Uncle Dane making this argument. Valve IS to blame for these fun weapons getting nerfed, but you don't hear these nerf apologists explaining that 6s and 12v12 are two entirely different games and that a weapon banned in comp 6s is most likely fine in casual 12v12, there's actually very little overlap between weapons that are considered overpowered in both formats.

This was pretty good to play on. The opening is similar to mvm_bigrock but significantly more open. Rewards bringing the jump height upgrade to reach certain places easier. The second half of the map feels very short and small by comparison. Getting back into spawn feels awkward.

Is the replay system really so complex that Valve can't maintain it? Especially since updates that change anything significant are so rare nowadays. It's just the server recording demos, then the player requesting part of the demo to download. The editor then plays the demo and records a movie.
Dota has a clip exporter, it's simple and works perfectly except for one graphical glitch that can be easily fixed and only happens on shit PCs.

I've worked at events of this nature and the crowd for the most popular game(s) dwarfed that of the less popular ones.

A prime example is the 50v50 shounic servers, but in 9v9 highlander theres already less impact of each individual classes, specially things like scout, soldier, or even medic's uber, while the importance of demomen' and sniper gets completelly amplified and it often comes down to "who has the best demoman/sniper" when everything else is roughly equal.
Theres not so much "complexity" in just knowing you have to kill the enemy sniper or demoman in order to be able to do shit, just like in 6v6 you can walk through chokes easily if you have just killed a demoman, or you can be sure of having uber adv if you just killed the medic
A medic uber just can't achieve much in a 9v9, whereas in a 6v6 its so powerful its the main thing players are constantly thinking about. The impact of each individual player gets extremelly diminished in 9v9 too, other than those 2 classes i mentioned, demoman and sniper
