I finished up chapter 2 recently and honestly I think that Toby might be one of the greatest game Devs ever, I already thought extremely highly of him after undertale but everything in this game is not only great in its own right, it makes me actually have a greater appreciation for what he did in Undertale. He's been setting all of this up for over a decade now.

Was anyone else really disappointed with Ch3 and Ch4?

As someone who doesn't like Susie or care about the knight, I felt like both chapters were just the Susie power hour, jerking her off over how strong and amazing she is and how sad and lonely she is and how everyone loves her and wants to make her happy. Even the Ch4 optional boss just jerks Susie off about how amazing she is and how she can do anything she puts her mind to and she's amazing and brave and has the power to defy fate and be the hero and heal better than Ralsei etc. etc. and of course all of the mushy wholesome "wow look at how much Noelle loves Susie aren't they sweeeet together?" for half of Ch4.
Then the knight shows up almost at random to be the big boss of chapter 3 and is just kind of a dick in chapter 4, but I'm not super invested into who or what they are and we have no idea who or what they are, what their motivations are, anything.

I was at least excited for Snowgrave route only to learn the Zelda portion I already did on the main route basically WAS the Snowgrave route for Ch3, and there isn't one for Ch4 outside of like 1 scene if you load a snowgrave save file for it.

What a fucking mess. I hated it. My friend loved it. Everyone else seems to love it. It sucks. And there's no good new Kriselle fics.

i have zero clue why people think this chapter was SUSIE SUSIE SUSIE. she has like, two tiny conversations with tenna and a single backstory segment and that's it. the entirety of cjapter 3 was deafeningly screaming "KRIS AND DREEMURRS" at basically all times

i actually really enjoyed that the chapter 3 secret boss stuff was basically telling you how to do weird route. it feels very appropriate. when looking at deltarune's actual original release schedule, chapter 2 was intended to be released simultaneously with 3, 4, and 5 as one lump product, with 6 and 7 releasing later. toby made the executive decision to release chapter 2 early for free. with this understanding, it becomes clear that the chapter 3 MANTLE game was intended to be a creepy hook into a secret path you were meant to stumble across and then go back for. i honestly think the only failing is that toby decided not to remove weird route from the demo years ago, because this would've been a super kino way to stumble across it instead of the brute force discovery that ended up happening back in 2021.
the chapter 4 stuff is pure kino in weird route and is everything that i wanted out of the route - super creepy, almost divine horror of turning noelle into a second vessel.

the very obvious answer here is that deltarune is "A game with only one ending" - the prophecy. the entirety of the story is railing against fate, and susie is the character that is the driving force of breaking the threads of fate. she refuses to join the party, she refuses to follow orders, she refuses to let you be the only person who can ACT. she comes up with her own ideas, she urges ralsei to be a person instead of an object, she denies the final tragedy of the prophecy.

yep, BoJack and Inside Job are both great shows that got cancelled cause Netlix got a weird fixation with ending actual good and meaningful shows... at least BJH got a decent amount of episodes and a very good ending while Inside Job got literally left on a cliffhanger which was meant to be solved or just expand in season 3 before mr big N decided to cancel it...there are probably a lot more good shows from Jewtlix that got cancelled but i haven't seen many, they keep renewing Big Mouth to the point of it not even being like a ironically good joke of a show, it just became a shitshow...i just wish we got another season of inside job cause i was late to the party (it being aroundf 2023 when i discovered this show exists) and got sad that a lot of stuff wont be ever talked about or solved (i think the Robot Raegan stuff was supposed to be renewed for season 3 but we will never get that now...)
I think Midnight Gospel also wanted a s2 but never got that and was only popular briefly on the release (although i think that show ended on a good note)...i forgot if Aggretsuko was cancelled or just ended, i didn't watch past season 2
