Hello anons - I am new. I started using Hammer because I like big axes and a friend told me hammers have big axe models.
But then another friend told me Hammer is one of the harder weapons to use because you have to constantly stay near the head and know movesets to play it in any sort of reasonable way.

to be fair from's art team pretty much hard carries the games, they're very good. the actual game dev part just slops every slop they can slop together and cobble together yet another dark souls clone. i think all the people with artistic talent left capcom ages ago. capcom used to have incredible art direction, every character design was iconic, and even their music was substantially better. they've become obsessed with realism because they want their games to attract the lowest common denominator. RE engine certainly isn't helping any.

I was running CB in base Wilds and I actually liked the pizza cutter axe gameplay, but jumping back in after a while my old setup was doing jack shit so I switched to an AED-SAED build but it just doesn't feel as fun. Lagi and Steve especially don't sit still long enough for the huge windup animations so you just get demolished, practically the only time you can use it is when they're downed. Otherwise, you're just sitting there in Sword mode waiting to perfect guard attacks. Feels lame.

Increase non-tempered HP by 15%, the tempered version HP by 25%, lower the wounding rate of all monsters by 45% and suddenly High-Rank monsters that aren't 8 stars aren't gonna be stupidly weak anymore. They might still be a bit easy, but they won't be pathetically easy to trip and wound spam.

Seriously, it’s brutally obvious even fighting mid-tier monsters like Ajarakarn that a good chunk of the roster is easier to stunlock and kill than what they’re adding in updates. Going back to spruce up the existing Apexes is a fantastic start, don’t get me wrong; I’d still argue that we’re better off than base-World’s endgame of fighting the same three Elder Dragons and sometimes Odogaron. But the roster of monsters in Wilds is one of the best they’ve ever done, and it would be fun to fight versions of them that are a genuine challenge.

It’s really making me miss Sunbreak’s Anomalies; every single monster got a glow up and was worth hunting. Even Great Izuchi, while not hard, was bumped up enough to actually engage with its moveset. Balahara, Lala Barina Rompopolo etc are all fantastic monsters only held back by their lack of challenge even when Temepred.

Tempered Lagi and Steve are only 8* so they have increased health, damage, and wound resistance when compared to standard Tempered monsters. Playing solo I can open two Tempered wounds by the time the hunt tends.

The normal versions aren’t really anything special, but the tempered versions only come as the 8 Star fight. And yeah all 8 star fights (except for Tempered Arkveld and Zoh Shia) all have “wound resistance” which makes wounds show up pretty rarely,

People say they want stronger and faster monsters in wilds but I feel like the players asking for that shit are players who use weapons with low commitment to attacks. As a hunting horn user, I definitely don't want monsters getting faster in Wilds. Its already a shit show when they aren't stunned to get a hit in. Hammer is a lot better now that they have so many offsets. Hunting horn has one offset and its semi-trash.

But its weird that the "focus mode" was basically put in the game to bust wounds but as you go higher up, you obviously won't be using it to bust wounds like it was intended. Out of all the “final bosses” of each Monster Hunter game, I think Zoh Shia is the most accurate and believable depiction of a life-ending terror. Yes, even more so than Fatalis, which is ironic, giving the connections it has to Fatalis. I think it’s poetic that man’s own hubris of creating a “god”, a false one who leeches life, led to the destruction of the very civilization that created it.

I honestly think that’s scarier than a big scary prophesy of a world-ending dragon if we specifically kill 50 Raths. Or was it 50 Rathians and 50 Rathalos? I can’t remember.
