Maelstroms are unironically easier now. Sometimes they feel like Damnation-tier. Think the director is broken sometimes. Went earlier through Consignment Yard and we got like two big Reaper/Crusher waves and one (1) Beast of Nurgle. We even lost one Arbitrator to a strategic explosion toss into pit, but that didn't cause issues at all.

Auric is legitimately too easy to beat right now though. I'm not measuring this by my winrate (I've always carried it) but by how often randos die. Randos averaged like 3 full deaths between them in every auric before. In old damnation before p13, it was legitimately 5+. Auric maelstroms used to sometimes have 10+ full deaths also.

Problem isn't the skilltrees.
The problem is Fatshark's insistence on being retarded and refusing to actually balance shit in a sensible, smart manner. Like actually buffing enemy health and making them more dangerous. Like they should have.

But no, instead they only buffed enemy health very minorly and then decided to resort to just "clown cars of elites + 3 bosses" approach to balance, which then fucked any last shred sense the game had.
And this is retarded way of doing it because most of the OP shit in the skilltrees is triggered on elite and specialist kills. Meaning more you spam elites and specialists, easier the game gets because you can trigger shit like psykinetic's aura 3 times per second due to killing elites, which then lets you spam your super strong combat abilities constantly.

Also this "clown cars of elites" shit is what has landed this game into this braindead meta that's dominated by the dueling sword. Because when the AI director just spawn 10-20 crushers at once, the only fucking solution to that problem is shit like the dueling sword or other high power weapon that just rapes carapace.
This is one of the main reasons why people whine about DS being one of the only good weapons and rest are trash, because it is sadly kind of true.


Darktide would not be in this fucking position if Fatshark and its devs could pull their heads out of their asses and realize that spamming elites is not a sensible way to do difficulty in a game like this, especially how other shit is designed.
Also we wouldn't be in this shithole currently if Fatshark could actually listened to player feedback AND did balance patches on a timely manner instead of doing them 1 every quarter like the retards they are.

They utilise special circuits connected to psychically attuned crystals which actually dampen and absorb their powers, protecting them from warp energies.
The ones that have brain implants are designed to actually supress their powers and emotions to give them better control at the cost of being weaker.
Some even contain failsafe mechanisms designed to implode if the Psyker loses control erasing them from existence along with their warp presence.

The ones with failsafe's are used more by psykers used for Warp navigation like Sefoni or ones which are particularly unstable but their powers are required.

Finally the big fancy gilded ones are often used as a status symbol alongside Relic versions.

I'm kind of tired of Arbites. Like they're not even playing well so they're not that OP, but it's the fucking dog. Playing with 3 Arbites? There'll be 3 dogs running around perfectly killing everything that could possibly be a threat, while the players stand with their shield up and drool. This is like Ogryn but 500x more braindead. The dog kills every special, every elite, wipes out hordes, kills Ogryn enemies in two pounces... Why put something like this in a game where the fun is dealing with emerging threats?

The dog applies the 8 stacks of bleed once on leap start. Also when flying through the air and another time when landing. This has been added with the previous hotfix.

The current hotfix makes it so that all dog damage talents also apply to bleed, leading to 5x bleed damage if you take every talent related to it. But just taking EO alone gives it a massive damage boost.

Roughly around the half way point you can see the dog take care of most of the mixed armor hordes simply by pouncing shit randomly. Guy is just focusing on specials and the boss, and even those die to the bleed most of the time.

Well if nothing else, I can confirm what everyone likely already knew: +% damage to breeds works on burn stacks. A single burn stack on a reaper deals 3 damage per tick, and with +25% unyielding deals 4.
4 bleed stacks deal 31 damage without any boosts, and 38 damage with +25% unyielding.
What makes this difficult to test in the psykhanium is that if you use hotkeys to change the perks/blessings of your weapon, you might have to change loadouts over and then back for it to update them.

All of them build around crits and shock trooper. Every good recon las build puts infernus on the gun. If you prefer the blue one, you just do a generic veteran build. The green one has no cleave so it's often forgotten about, but don't underestimate it. The brown one is very compatible with deadshot. If you do go with deadshot, you need focus target (good) or marksman's focus (kinda bad) for stamina recovery, and at least 1 stamina curio.

Health is currently the only resource in DT that you can't just fart out of nothing.
There's always a fixed amount of healing stims, medpacks and medstations in the game.

Making a class that just acts as a mobile medpack is a terrible fucking idea.

Go into your loadout, click the recon las, and at the top right click marks.

Fires fast as FUCK, and drains your stamina at equal rate if you take deadshot. Don't run it with deadshot.

Has incredible ammo efficiency with deadshot, but doesn't cleave and drains your stamina reasonably quick. Consider the stamina refund on focus target or marksman's focus a necessity.

Chews through ammo reasonably quickly, but fires slow enough to where deadshot doesn't instantly drain your stamina. Still wants some form of stamina recovery, but is usable (if suboptimal) without. Feels worse with infernus, but it's still the best blessing for bosses.

I recommend you always run your lasgun with unyielding (bosses) and then either crit (if you need the ammo efficiency) or maniacs (includes all the important enemies that need to die right fucking now)

Plenty of players have done true survivor legitimately without any cheese, with randos. I've had groups where a player has gotten it accidentally without planning for it. Havoc isn't as hard as people are making it out to be, all the whiners just suffer from enormous skill issues and struggle to even get past the h20-30 hurdle.

Buffs apply in real time, so when duration on buffs expires you need to refresh it
The source tracking seems to work that way, yes. But it also means that a random shooting a bolter can initiate bleed before your dog gets to the boss

Break the line has a +50% modifier with 12s duration which is better than castigator stance uptime, it's up to your preference I suppose
I would go with break the line because I will probably use a weapon without brutal momentum and I want to be able to get out of dense hordes without cleave

No I play with lineups that don't need shout, then use stealth to do every objective for free, and get safe revives off.
I do think stealth has slightly less value than shout, but in a group that can handle itself without it already, stealth completely invalidates any and all objectives, which are often sweatier than getting through the map normally.
This applies all the way from aurics through havoc 40. Ever play Clandestium with randoms? The second section with the power cells you have to shove back into the machines is always a massive shitshow because nobody plays the objective. Stealth does it for free without even letting them time out. And that's just one example.
