Having watched the original Japanese version years ago, my current nostalgia for the Saban dubs of Digimon is negligible at best. Also Marc is a fucking atrocious person to be the "face" (and I use that term grimly) of Digimon in the West.

Its a more mature take on the "children get sent to another world and need to survive" because they actually run the risk of dying. The main problem of the game is that it's 80% visual novel and 20% a 6/10 tactical RPG. The story is one of the best of the franchise but the average digimon fan has the attention span of a goldfish so they shit on it for not being "le epic action packed gaem".

If you like visual novels and don't mind the eventual tactical rpg gameplay, go for it.

I was looking at Belphemon and Gulfmon, but honestly they don't feel like they fit as the next evolution.
You can see the similarities between Pillowmon and Sheepmon, and between Sheepmon and Pajiramon, they really feel the next step, but neither Belphemon nor Gulfmon feel like it's the "actual" normal evolution, you know what I mean?

NGL the chink pendulum feels like they just dump all chinkmons together without any much logic in evo line apart from Wu Kong line while the nip pendulum has obvious lines in mind (Dog/Ama line, Tenga doll line, water line, Tengu line and Renamon line below etc.)

It is hard to imagine how to change it so Earlangmon, Nezhamon, and Takutomon have a dedicated before. Pandamon is the only one at perfect level that isn't already tried to something else going on, and pandas are the most "dude China lol" thing outside of Journey to the West and dragons possible. I'm sure that Xingtianmon is going to evolve into one of them though because it is an armored warrior even if it is oppositional.
On the other side, Toho Braves is the one that has a couple of floating new guys while pretty much every new Digimon in Saiyu Warriors seems like they had specific evolutions in mind.
