The only reason to leave comms on is for the chance you might get good comms with a a good team or you're losing and you listen to your teammates chimp out call each other slurs. They, like many of other things in these games, are "standard" because they rip each other off and are terrible at design. Not because it's good.
The tank-dps-healer structure was used because Overwatch was made by MMO devs that failed to make an MMO and fell back on the shit they were used to, MMO shit. Then other games just ripped that terrible structure off along with a lot of other trash shit from Overwatch, like charge-up Ults.

No, any hero you personally can kill a ton of players with results in high match impact.
If you're good enough you can have high match impact with pretty much any hero, as many people have proved by one tricking various heroes from Captain America to Psylocke.
If you don't have great mechanical skill, situational awareness and decisionmaking you need to add match impact in different and multiple ways, which can even include psychologically babysitting your team to ensure they don't get tilted and keep team morale up.
Match impact also has nothing to do with some nice looking KDA. If you play BW, don't die a lot, have decent damage numbers, high hit % (because you try to only fire when you'll hit) and a couple of final hits that in no way means you had strong match impact. In fact you could easily have far less impact than if you'd play a different here where you would have lesser nice lookinda KDA.
You could have dogshit stats but if you played in a way that had high positive impact for your team which resulted in high win percentage, that is what's relevant. Stalling key players or heroes at the right moment, even if it results in your death, can be outright match winning.

Here's the thing you do not comprehend. A standard kind of game mode for these types of games benefit from giving players direction, that's it. That does not mean it needs to be a permanent fixed circular point in the exact same location every single match for the entire match or an escort mission that always travels along the same fixed path.
Game Design 101 is goal/pillar oriented. What the desired effect is. You do not understand this. You also stare yourself blind at exactly 2 types of basically identical modes, without even understanding the problems they have.

King of the Hill means all players will beeline to the same open space every single time. It does not change how the map is played, there is not alternate way to play on it, it doesn't benefit players to move around on the map outside of that point. Nothing. This results in matches and maps becoming very stale very quickly. The solution to this is to create a more dynamic game mode and/or giving players a reason to move around the map more and think about how they move around more.
One of the main problems MR has is the lack of variety. Adding more modes which do not actually increase variety in a relevant amount would not help the game at all.

Even games from over 15 years ago understood this. Killzone 2 for example had a mode that would have several non-stop rounds with no breaks where it dynamically changed the objective, where the objective was and in some cases who. In a single match you got an incredibly amount of variety while still focusing the team (and in case you're not aware, Killzone 2 had various classes, including medic and support classes).

You fundamentally do not understand what the problems this game has or what it needs.

You need to check the map to know which point a team plans to plant and see if there's fakeout. You need to think about the surfaces you walk on and paths you take to not give away your position. I've been watching some vids and I never realized how funny it is whenever Iron Fist retreats from a fight he feels like he can't win. They always do that one spin kick that launches him forward so when you see it from an outside perspective, it's usually him doing like two jumps then flinging himself off into the distance. Just looks silly, especially when bro's one shot.

Cap is a tick, he can't be ignored and a well timed reflection can turn the tide (very in character)
Emma cannot be ignored and steps on people
