I actually play Forest as my main craft so I can tell you that things are dire without any evos, you literally can't throw them away and expect things to go well when kill turns are so tight and its a game of inches with the roach. No SEVO cuts your roach turn's damage by a lot without the carbuncle or just a straight up roach SEVO, and you'll see plenty of games where your opponent is on 15 and you got 12 in hand. EVOs are so precious as well to use with Glade to clear wide boards or Lily against stuff like Kuon and A&G. You can't answer those cards, you die basically.

I've swapped decks for each weekend and the GP and it has happened every time. Picked Face dragon the first weekend Three swords and 8 portals in the weekend tournament. Honestly though the biggest clear buff to an existing archetype I've seen is that Portal can run Odin now which is a huge bump for a deck that was already good. Like dragon is already getting a bunch of playables but it's hard to say if that'll be enough from their current state.

I'd argue that it'd have an identity if it simply had a bad mechanic, but the problem is that blood's mechanics very often didn't exist even when it was good. It constantly spent meta games either trying to ignore its own "class identity" like the plague, or completely circumventing them with cheat cards.

Shadow's mechanics can be pretty boring, it's true that midshadow in particular was very often just a stickier but slower version of Sword, but burial rites, reanimate and shadows were constantly seeing use and made good pivots for the class to be tuned around. Even if you did the same thing as Sword, you'd do that same thing differently. Blood was very, very often just a deck that might as well have been all neutrals.

I'm still wondering about Lymaga. She stalls for a turn and does 7 face damage max. So T7 you play her, stall your opponent, bricks their board space, and puts the opponent from 20 health to 13 health to prep them for your roach turn on T8.

Of course that's best case scenario. And uses a SEVO.

The thing about forest that really gets me is that the vast majority of forest cards would be garbage in another craft but somehow you can print worse versions of good cards into forest and they're fucking broken

Ligma does up to 7 total damage to face from superevo, Olivia only does 2 to face, if you are lucky 5 or 6 from follower already on the board (but this only clears a single enemy follower)
Additionally Ligma bricks the opponent's board for one turn
Downside is obviously no heal 2, no draw 2 from Olivia. Control forest shouldn't need the draw 2 anymore. The only real loss here is the heal 2.
