I didn't play comp at all last season, I think I got to Diamond 2 and I didn't even get the ultron skin because you were supposed to play 10 matches in 2.5 (what the hell kind of bullshit requirement is that) apparently which says a lot about my enjoyment. It feels like we've gotten to a point where the fun factor is just lower than anything else.

Its really sad too because the game is fun but it probably has the worst balance I've ever seen in a multiplayer game. And take that from someone who's played Destiny 2 PVP for thousands of hours.

It's so tiring realizing that there's a clear directive at Netease that Luna has to be the best support in the game at all moments and if she isn't then she will be buffed so she becomes it.
Like it just so completely breaks the rhythm of the game that every minute or so I AM READY TO PUT ON A SHOW and a whole team gets 15 seconds of invulnerability, made even worse by the fact that after that then Loki copies the ult and another 15 seconds of invulnerability. It's so fucking boring.
Luna is genuinely this game's worst mistake. And she's coombait, somebody's self-insert and her ult is intended to be like that so it will never be fixed, too.

Luna is in fact sthe single most meta-defining character in this game. Every game has two Lunas and the game at its core simply comes down to Luna ult economy because at any point in the game one player presses a button and their team is invulnerable.
I'd even say that Luna ult is as core to how Rivals is played in any sort of organized way as planting the bomb in CSGO. There isn't any sort of choice on whether you can play the game with or without Luna, you need Luna on your team every single game because if not then you will lose, simple as that.

Worst part is there's already a better designed Luna in C&D but her ult actually has counterplay so why the fuck would you pick the bad one.

Yesterday I realized that every single part of Jean's kit could be given to Hela with appropriate reflavoring ("sparks" -> "death marks", phoenix motifs -> nastrond crows, flames -> helfire), even the health regeneration (gaining power from death, "healing? why would I need healing"). All of it fits perfectly
They could have reworked Hela into what Jean currently is, left the long distance sniper players to play Black Widow, and then released Jean with an actually interesting kit, like a stance switcher (either permanent like C&D or temporary like Emma) with some kind of Phoenix Power resource mechanic. For example, Jean's abilities get weaker the more power you have, but the Phoenix gets stronger so you have to balance using the two forms to get the best results (unlike C&D where Dagger is the primary form)
The fact they thought shooting fire bullets was an appropriate gameplay loop for a powerful telepath and the Phoenix Force, combined with the state of the Wolverine team-up on release does not bode well for this game's future.

It's gotta be a rework at this point. People want to "main" a character and do "X character only" challenges and whatever. The worlds #1 BP player could not force the BP even in a world without bans and get beyond like Diamond. He is probably the character in the whole game most vulnerable to bad matchups, it's just gambling on team comps. You can't buff him though for obvious reasons. So he just needs a whole new rework bigger than Rocket's.
