He didnt threaten to use any "objects" to break novartis face as it would have been completely out of his character, there was 0 in the original text that even implied it.

I notice very often nisa bastardizes both rean's and loyd's characters making them WAY more violent than they actually are in japanese. Learning japanese to understand trails games without any software would LITERALLY take 5-7k hours. And you'd only understand maybe 90%, not 100%. You can use LunaTranslator OCR with googlense+any LLM for your choice, I prefer grok or gemini but deepL or free googlev2 are okay too. It will translate everything on screen but the experience wont be pleasant. You cannot play non-VN games or any games with UI in a convenient way yet. Idk whether falcom cares/are aware of the issue or not. I think the vast majority of players dont care about nisa bastardizing the games. Even in the games with way worse translations than nisa(and its very rare) I never saw original japanese authors making any effort to fix it, no matter how bad the translations were or how big the public outcry was. I know they did some changes in Eiyuden Chronicles, thats maybe the only example ever, but even in this example its the same localization team that tried to fix it and they barely changed anything, the localization in its final version is still completely unplayable.

if we are honest, then xseed was pretty bad at faithful translations too, I personally have a soft spot for them and hate them less because of 0 censorship(many people underestimate how horribly nisa censored the games) + the chest message. I didnt even like most of the chest messages and their weird humour, but it was clear that xseed put a lot of soul into those games and went extra with it. And I knew way less japanese when I was playing xseed games so it wasnt as glaring to me. Also many western players actually prefer xseed's version of estelle vs falcom's version. Not the best or my favorite, but I think it has the best ending sequence of any Kiseki game full stop. If Sky wasn't my favorite arc I'd be pissed we aren't getting Kai 2 immediately, but then again I am hoping, for all the good that does lmao, that Falcom writes some motherfucking payoff and that a director puts it all in a way that makes sense and is satisfying.
This game gets a lot of shit for following Kuro 2 - it's understandable people wanted the main story to be more meaty considering the ending is, and considering Kuro 2 was well, what it was.
I think sort of the same thing happened in the West with Reverie and people's reactions to Lloyd's route. Many complained it rethreads ground from Zero and Azure and I think the people that played the NISA releases felt that more than anyone else. Granted his route isn't my favorite either, but it didn't bore me to tears like some claim it did.

I liked them in Kuro 1 but they didn't do anything with them in Kuro 2 or Kai. I'm sure they'll finally give them things in Kai 2 but it'll feel like too little too late by that point. This arc just got the short end of the stick. Kuro 2 was rushed out for Ys X and Kai feels like it's more interested in overarching series shit instead of the Calvard arc itself. They just never had a chance and there's only one man to blame for it.

Kuro 2 genuinely may have ruined the entire arc

Kuro 1 wasn't a good game. It's time to come to terms with it. It had a good start maybe up to end of Chapter 1.

It did. It ruined the momentum from Kuro 1, it contributed absolutely fucking nothing to the arc or series overall which meant Kai had to spend most of its playtime setting everything up again, it made it's cast look like the biggest fucking idiots in the world so nobody took them seriously again and it being a filler game just burned everybodies goodwill and patience so that they'd be more angry at Kai than they otherwise would have been. The arc as a whole can't recover from it.
