Mainly because the rewards are significantly worse. I don't understand why 3 wins in an 8p tournament are worth so much less than in a 16p tour. The prospect of basically winning a free legendary makes the big tours exciting and tense.

Also, 3 games feel a bit too short to get invested in an event. 4 is alright, though personally, I'd like to have even bigger ones, but I know, it's a mobile game meant to be played in short bursts, so they won't do it.

Seeing the empty tournament lobby with 8p is also kind of depressing and kills any excitement you might have.
