Mainly because the rewards are significantly worse. I don't understand why 3 wins in an 8p tournament are worth so much less than in a 16p tour. The prospect of basically winning a free legendary makes the big tours exciting and tense.

Also, 3 games feel a bit too short to get invested in an event. 4 is alright, though personally, I'd like to have even bigger ones, but I know, it's a mobile game meant to be played in short bursts, so they won't do it.

Seeing the empty tournament lobby with 8p is also kind of depressing and kills any excitement you might have.

The extreme midrange abyss deck doesn't run ginsetsu and possibly even runs 1-drops, aiming to end the game on turn 8 with Cerberus.
There is a lot of space between those two extremes and which extreme you lean closer to determines how you call your deck.
