I think we really need to pull away from blocks of text and lean more towards icons, which generally work a lot better cross-language.
Like say we added [Quick] as a keylogo, it doesn't matter what language it is in, if you can recognize the signs of the keylogo (i.e. colour/shape) then you are good to go whether it says Rápido or Schnell or 誘発即時.
Same with adding icons for types, so you can easily pick out reference to them across languages.

Digimon does a decent job of it. Orange blocks are keywords and blue blocks are the when triggers(on digivolve, on play, etc). Yugioh would probably be even more intuitive since it wouldn't have the digital theme of digimon's keywords. I think the important thing is to know when keywords are useful and when they're unnecessary. Magic for example has a shitload of keywords which are almost always followed by explanations of those keywords, when the effect can be summed up in plain language with like 3-4 words making the card text shorter and circumventing the need for a keyword entirely. The most egregious things we need keywords/icons for are HOPTs and "if this card is in your hand/grave/face-up on the field". Maybe one for "until end of turn". That alone would cut card text in half. Bullet points to seperate different effects on the same card would make it far easier to intuit a card's effects too.

Essentially. But it's better than just rotation because it lets them undo some of the irreversable issues and grandfathered in card design they can't fix with rotation. Just rotating out older sets means you can't update anything about the game or cards, and you're stuck with our current powerlevel.

Think how pokemon did it. They had a reboot I think around the black/white era and just cleaned the whole thing up from it's experimental early days. There were some rule and card changes, the old broken stuff was out, the balance was better, and yet the identity of the game remained unchanged.

I personally think they made a mistake with Yusei.
Even if you take out Stardust and it's supporting archetypes and cards, Yusei had multiple high rarity cards in real life.
I think it would make much more sense if he used only common cards, and bullshited his way through shit with the power of bonds.
I blame Konami for not even making a "serviceable" common generic synchro from the start.
