There's only so many ways you can make "my special ability is that I can punch harder than anyone else" interesting without hitting a narrative brick wall, infinitely powerscaling, deflecting to side characters all the time, or making your MC a completely useless limp-wristed cuck who has to eat shit for years of the series' runtime to become competent in using that ability. Smarter stand fights with special rules/limitations are way more interesting unless it's something overly complex like some of part 7.

For RR, I'd argue that it's "valid" considering that you're not really stuffing yourself with MD gifts and have to rely on your IDs and EGO as they are, and having to win the battles beforehand to get those buffs, but I definitely wouldn't count MD for this since it gets wildly out of control past a certain point.
In Railway's case, I did have a moment where I lost the clash on Section 5 against Dulcinea (Bloodfiend Trio stage) and her counter, where his Overheat unbreakable buff shaved off a considerable amount of HP from her, but for the majority of the time, I was clashing unopposed, stacking Tremor and converting to Reverb with FrogLu.
Stepping off for a moment, I'd like to hear how (You) are making use out of him, since I feel like it's completely different from my modus operandi.

In MDs, you're right, his kit doesn't matter because it's MD. However, I'd argue against this point for a moment. The fact that a majority of the fights end before turns 5 or 6, sometimes even 4, goes to show how he doesn't fit in the current state of the game.
Longer fights on the other hand are better, but I hate how I have to still spend 20 shells in order to get all the buffs. Even then, you still need to fire up Regret to make sure you don't get molested by damage modifiers. Since RR is the only way to make the most of him, I end up losing quite a lot of clashes due to -10 clash power. And since he's the fastest, I couldn't reliably clash with Dulcinea's counter and remove the bleed buff on her all the time. Not to mention, most of the tremor IDs are really slow, so if the boss rolls higher than 6 on speed, you're going to suffer, which happened to me twice.
The slow ramp up isn't the end of the world, and I'll forgive the -10 clash power since he gets buffed by 2 EGOs now, but I will not forgive his scorch conversion and how he actively ruins tremor if you want to go for big bursts on the same turn

It is unfortunate that if you want to burst a Reverb stack you'll have to go with his S2 as opposed to his S3 w/Ammo since it immediately converts it into Scorch (Thumbclair suffers from this as well) as opposed to, say, YuroLu performing Amplification on S3 after stacking 15 Tremor Count on himself, which in my opinion, is an imperfect solution since

You'd either have your lineup set perfectly or suffer from various IDs lowrolling their designated values. And with Tremor, of course, the latter will be much more prevalent. Leisault being the obvious exception here.

Now I feel compelled to agree with this as well, since in regular gameplay, it takes a number of turns (3-6 depending on Skill draws). S3 spends the most bullets so unless you somehow manage to draw 4 S3s in a row throughout 3 turns (and you need to spend at minimum 8 rounds to get the buffed Unrelenting Spirit, so 4 S2s instead) the battle'll be over by then.

Achievements are back. MDI is back. I wonder how many of the previous cheevos will they repeat for this MD. Upcoming achievement requiring QOH Don + KoD Rodya in the team (yes rental exists but they do not put walpurgis in rentals).

I really wish this game wasn't a gacha. There are a lot of team compositions I think would be fun, but I'm at the mercy of RNG and the availability of specific IDs. And if I sink resources into an ID that's shit, then that's even more wasted time.

Library of Ruina was 30 dollars for hundreds of cards and characters, even less if you got it on sale. 50 pulls in this game is 33 dollars (presuming you get the monthly pack) and that's only for extracting IDs, not leveling them up or spending threads to uptie them too.

PM is IRL T corp. Either pay your time tax with Ahn (real money) or with time (grinding MD). Time tax is used to get IDs/Egos in the game. I'm fine with 4 hours days anyway.

The mirror dungeon rewards are shit though. 10 pulls every 2 weeks. It runs into the same issue I mentioned before too, where playing the game is fucking boring because I have no real control over my team composition or build my own decks.
