Each Lotto ticket was 700 yen, so about 4200 all in all, not bad at all. Wish I could've gotten the red Erdrick's Weapons but someone else beat me to it at the local store, since that was the "last prize" thing they had for the whole gimmick. I have all the bring arts figures, the Dungeon R board game, 4 slime plushies of varying sizes, Erdrick's Sword and Shield keychains, the SSBU amiibo, the hard foam replica of Erdrick's Sword, and a full set of DQV gashapon figures, which is kinda funny cause I'm not a fan of V (still the only mainline I haven't finished, literally, I've even finished v1 of X) but I liked Rex and Tabitha so I wanted figures of them, and only $80 for the full set was a pretty good deal.

besides generally agreeing with the other anons that the other HD-2D games look way worse, i'm also on the "i just wanted it to be in full 3D" boat. Basically it looking like XI and that's it, especially since settlements and whatever got remade in 3D anyway so i just want to look at that shit from a relatively "normal" pov. It's similare to the "good looking water in this game" guy's autism, i'm just fascinated with vistas both in real life and videogames and games i routinely just slowly walk around cool looking places while i slowly turn the camera around to look at the details and whatnot. Now that you mention it I'm surprised they didn't bring that back from the PS1/DS games for HD2D since it's basically the same style, would've been a nice feature of nothing else and they already let you at least spin the camera around. Although, I guess they did also skimp on diagonal sprites for 3 (probably to avoid needing to make diagonal sprites for all the different Jobs they have designs for now).

But I get the impression there's going to be more party members than just the Princess of Cannock in II. The trailer showed a bunch of unique looking characters, and then the stream revealed that the Princess can't be controlled at first, and rejoins later. There might be a small string of guest party members.

As a side note, even though I really like Builders 1 (more than 2 even), it drove me crazy that the story is that the DQ1 hero felt pressured to be the hero when in the actual game it's the opposite and you have to go out of your way to find proof that you're the real deal.

It's all about two of their skills, that do not depend on their own stats at all.
One that lets them act twice per turn, and one that damages enemies multiple times with power that scales based on the amount of monsters you've recruited. They got nerfed a while back but they're still top tier.

Wild Side had it's cost increased to 30MP vs the original 9MP.
Monster Pile-On had it's damage output nerfed until all 121 monsters had been recruited. It was also changed to deal 3 to 5 strikes randomly instead of a set 4, increasing it's maximum damage potential but also lowering it's minimum damage potential.

There's a note about minor adjustments to the way damage is dealt, but is a universal change and doesn't go into detail. Maybe it affected Warriors negatively?

Just because it’s interesting DQX on Switch 2 due to what can only be described as not giving a fuck technically gets a pretty good boost
You could toggle between 1080p/720p at any time and any mode and choose to unlock the framerate.
So even in handheld mode on Switch 2 now you get a native resolution version of the game at 60fps

The Switch 2 version from what I saw has two problems, it’s the only version without cross saves or progression, and they prioritized visuals too much over performance

The free trial for DQ10 online is extended to version 4.4 and up to level 104 for free
Reminder if you do use the free trial follow a tutorial on how to go from free trial to paid account, best option for easy use is Switch but you don’t get access to the translation mods

Definitely higher than a normal game but there are a lot of sites that can help you find who drops what and what percentage.
Gold is dropped decently but the further you get the more it’s going to cost you for things like revives. I think I lost half of my gold once because I got wiped by a boss, it was close to 2.5 million gone.
There is a market in game where you can sell your gear to other players that’s a decent way to get gold and get gear you want

Up until I believe version 5 there’s no voice acting, it’s more of a surprise when they suddenly start talking.
It’s not really much of a big deal especially for people who played it.
Biggest change they made in the game at all is the one to add more fast travel points and increase movement speed in towns.
In terms of RPGs and MMOs DQX is very stuck in its ways. You unlock Zoom gems where you need to assign fast travel points to them and replace them when you run out of space. Eventually they added in quests to unlock a better way of handling it but when even to start a new expansion you need to decide where you want to place your points.
Mounts also use fuel.

DQX Offline is so troll. Oftentimes it’s worse to defeat ‘parts’ of bosses instead of just aiming for their actual body from the start. If you destroy the parts, the main body starts hitting like twice as hard, and you can’t keep up with healing, or you just get one-shot.

I am thinking of replaying DQ V for the millionth time, so I'm wondering, does the game have any sequence breaks or late game areas you can get to early, or perhaps just any peninsula of power-esque areas? I don't think there are any notable sequence breaks or anything like that, the closest thing I think is making a beeline to Coburg at the start of gen 2 to immediatelly get the slime knight and yeti and whatever else is there.
Yeah, there are a bunch of monster that are stuck in gen 3 and have no reason being there, like ghost and big rat, hope they make them available earlier in the inevitable remake.
