These early idol cards simply got powercrept, because the signature cards were basically just powered-up versions of the SR/SSR skill cards everyone can use, plus their P items had boring effects
The newer idol cards would either get new mechanics/effects (after being introduced to idol road/contest) or get signature cards that have 3+ effects you'd think it would fit right in as a Yu-gi-oh card

That's debatable for some of weaker CMs. Saki's limiteds (Sakura, Ameagari) are very strong, and her CM is relatively weak for a CM. It's still a strong card though, as it's still a CM. Same for Lilja, since X'mas Lilja is also one of the strongest Yaruki cards. Heck, CM Sena is probably the strongest sense card but Valentines Sena is probably the strongest non-CM Yaruki card. I think CM Sena the better card, but it's close.
