im pretty good at tanking, but im fucking useless when im not getting healed at all or waiting around corners while pinging which I think most people here can relate. I just really dont have the patience to play with people who want to larp as bronze players when they're fully capable of playing the game normally and effectively.

I have an idea for how beast could work in this game without giving me a gun or gadget

1) give him an walk run like rockets.
2) give him a permanent double jump and overhead like Spider-Man.
3) give him an ability that lets him chimp out. By that I mean it increases his movement and attack speed, and the amount of healing he receives from allies. Maybe apply it to surround allies as well for added utility.
4) give him 3 barrel rolls. He can do them in any direction, on the ground and in the air, and he can hold each one for a little while to roll around a couple more times and cover more ground. Each use grants him bonus shield, and damages the enemy, knocks them back.
So he’d be a brawl/dive tank that plays a little similarly to ironfist.

You play him like a fighting game character. Just keep letting combos. You hit them with 3 web clusters? Follow up with a zip then uppercut. They’re still not dead? I personally play aggressively with web clusters, while auto and manual zipping back and forth with uppercuts. I get plenty of kills this way. I also alternate between hanging behind my tank and supporting them with fighting the enemy tank, and swinging to the enemy backline when there’s an opening to kill a support. Like venom I also try to wall run often to avoid burning through web swings. The most important thing though is just to keep moving as him. Keep moving and applying pressure and the kills will come. Also the following changes to your controls will help:
1) reduce your sensitivity. I have mine at 1.5 for both horizontal and vertical.
2) switch your M1 and M2, because it’s easier to land web clusters using M1
3) turn on the option to remap your auto web zip so that you can use your regular get over here zip even if the enemy has been tagged by a web cluster
4) make sure auto swing is turned off. Note you have have both auto and manual swing bonded to seperate buttons now but I personally just stick to manual swing)
Also pro spidey players have hold to swing on for animation cancels but I personally prefer toggle since I don’t bother with animation cancels

Average player doesn't play daily. They play 1-3 times per week at no fixed times or days.
It's like having 1 litre of water, spread out across 7 glasses. Looking at an individual glass of water doesn't give you a good idea of how many currently active players are playing the game. So a daily or 24h peak is not useful or relevant. Weekly peaks or average numbers would actually be useful and more accurate data.

Companies want players to at least play their live service game once a week, so they're still in the game's ecosystem. To maintain player retention. Tht is why they try to have some kind of weekly content drop, free stuff or event so players keep the game installed and hopefully form a weekly habit of logging in.

But the most player excitement is formed around the big season drops. Like a new battle pass drops, new hero, new map and stuff. This also increases the chance of focusing the largest number of players around the same time (usually spread out across weekends, so not even all on the same day). This is why you get the largest peaks then, even though that number isn't an accurate estimate of the total number of active players (generally a bit higher).
Naturally, as the season goes on and less exciting stuff is dropped, more and more players stop logging in each week or play fewer number of days, until the next season or big drop happens.

This is how 99.9% of all live service games work.

The only thing useful about this is if for some reason player count dropped by over 90% over a day, which would mean backend issues. But you'd notice that on the backend side anyway.

I like seeing familiar faces in my lobbies, it makes them feel like people and not just bots. If you just play the same character in to the same character that's a you issue. The matchmaking does suck though. The gap between the highest skilled and lowest skilled player in a lobby is immense and there is no excuse for it. I think part of the reason is that it way overvalues the advantage provided by playing in a 2 or 3 stack. It provides a benefit, and a 4 or 6 stack is an unfair advantage, but if there's just two buddies on your team, it will also put a full blown knuckle dragging retard on the team to offset that and the retard takes away way more value than two coordinated people provide

I unironically like bot matches, I recognize that its intentionally manipulative, but I can't deny it feels good to get a game thats a complete stomp in my favor after getting wrecked multiple games in a row, lots of games out there will just have you get fucked over and over and over until you manage to get lucky matchmaking

The closest I think of is smash bros where some of my coworkers and friends bitch about ganon. But as soon as you get into people who put time into the game everyone recognizes how bad he is and easy to beat.

The real issue boils down to teams that dont want to acknowledge him as being a massive problem so they let him live in the backline (which happens with A LOT of dps ie psylocke, cap, magik, iron fist) to be fair its entirely just a team check.

And this is why I personally think Dive is a skill check too, because if people aren't on top of dealing with the solo player living in your backline then its obvious theres a core issue with the team. This is why I hate support players so much, they'll just eat shit, never ping, or in some cases NEVER fucking help with the person trying to help them.
