Don't waste time with warrior. You'll blow hundreds of gold making it raid ready + consumables only to throw all that effort into the trash when TBC comes, with warriors being nerfed into oblivion.

It is. Warlock leveling is piss easy. When you get to 60, get mining and herbalism up and do DME jump runs. It's a bit harder with shitty gear but totally doable, some people can do it with no gear equipped. You don't have to deal with anything or anyone, just farm the instance, reset, repeat.
Also, Warlocks (and hunters) are the best dps class throughout TBC.

The only situation where I would agree with going warrior is if you have a decent guild to carry you through naxx and tbc, which you probably do not have since you're starting now. Or if you really love warrior and can't stand any other class.

Warlock is fine. You can't really think about "demand" in vanilla since there is no demand of anything other than warriors and healers really. Everything is insanely unbalanced.

Hunters are great now and will be even better later. What you can do is roll hunter and play until lvl 10-15 since that's quick and easy just to have a feel of the class and specially the pet mechanic. If you love it just go for it.

I can say without question at 33 years old, the worst kind of game out there for me is "OPEN WORLD". Why does EVERYTHING need to be open world? -make the leveling take at least 25% longer, nilla is about leveling
-couple more leveling zones to compensate, make sure the quests arent modern questhub slop though, and force you to travel all over aimlessly 'nilla style
-flatten the gear scaling at max level, AQ and Naxx gear is cringe. Nothing should be stronger than BWL gear, even that should probably be squished down. Make horizontal gear scaling.
-endgame zone with base building that resets every week. has open pvp, unique items, and currency that can be looted off your corpse.
