Iirc the sentiment at the time was that bananaslop was just mid but not really bad. Contrast to 3.0, which was mid AND tedious, which makes bananaslop just seem better. Anon please. There are a couple of objective writing flaws that Amphoreus suffers from. This isn't about subjective opinions.
The fact it's badly received is caused by these issues, but that does NOT mean you can't enjoy it. Writing is there to sell a story, but if you don't need that because you accept everything regardless.. you can still have a good time.

Not an exhaustive list:
-Terrible foundation, without a reason given for the audience to care. Our protagonists have no stakes or direct involvement, while our actual questions (aka what happened to M7) have been.. put on ice, pun intended.
-Bloat. Everything overstays its welcome, with characters talking in cycles never getting to the point. Everything potentially cool likes to stay for another 15 minutes to the point it annoys. Less is sometimes more, and in this story's case, so many things were ruined like that. In particular the final dialogue with Rice and her "sister", or Paimon looping more and more.
-Wrong time for exposition: The story loves to put in what feels like side-stories and/or filler right during the time where things should move towards a climax. Later on they allowed you to skip those parts (Hyacine patch), instead of figuring out how to tell them OUTSIDE of the fucking main-story climax.

The list goes on. This isn't just the fault of the writer mind you. This is a collective failure of the entire team. It's been over since 3.0. The entire beginning couldn't hook anyone, because there was no hook.

Have you actually tried doing it? I just did a run on connundrum 1 with the DoT alignment and it was way easier than I remembered. In the end if you can get that achievement with any other alignment, you can do it with DoT because the only thing that really changes is which scepters are more likely to appear.

it really depends, for most characters I have they've largely fit a 'good enough' with really good relics but 1-2 pieces that definitely need upgrades whereas some like castorice for me are like 95% perfect and the amount of time I need to grind to get 5% upgrade is better spent getting better relics for my other characters instead

The ideal for DoT scepters is Charge on Ult, Charge on DoT applied, Charge on DoT damage.

I think my UD6 clear was DoT with like Jingliu and Blade as my fastest ulters, just to get my Rube Goldberg machine online.

In my experience, DoT is by far the easiest because they're the easiest scepters to feed into themselves. You don't get clickbait high roll big #s, you just take unlimited turns.
I wasn't sure if there was or I had an achievement for 4th plane UD6, so I went and did that after Hysilens, and while it was death by a thousand cuts, I don't think I consumed any cycles until like 1 cycle in 4th plane.
I didn't even have all 3 good scepters, I had a SPD scepter with the gold "advance self when allies do things" instead of the "charge from ults", a massive handicap.
