This is awful. There's so much about this that just make it incredibly tedious.

Life pro tip for poe 2. You don't actually need resistances early game. They decided to make poe 2 kind of retarded proof.
All you want are your primary defensive stats on your gear. High armor, high evasion, or high energy shield. Spec out of your early damage nodes. 90% increased damage on a 200 damage attack is nothing. But 90% increased defenses with 200 base is the difference between living long enough to clear packa and being insta-gibbed by them instead.
Spec it all into your defensive trait of choice. Armor nodes, evasion nodes, es nodes.
You can respec to a real build again when you're almost finished with the campaign and have real damage to scale through your passives.

Hello anons, I'm new. I played the original POE all the way back in... 2013? 2014? I think it was but haven't played since then.

I chose a Warrior because I like the big tanky guys but I feel like I'm the exact opposite of that.
Anytime there is an elite enemy in front of me, I melt. Those Abyss things? I avoid them entirely because I just keep dying to them.
Monsters with this bubble thing around them that make my already incredibly slow attacks even slower. Monsters that drain all my mana so I can only use auto attack, which is better than most of my skills anyway, which is weird.
I feel like I'm having an unnecessarily difficult time.
I thought maybe I'm doing something wrong, so I looked up multiple guides for low level warriors and my tree, skills and gems are all what they're doing.
I thought maybe I had really bad gear so I bought new gear on the trade website, following guides for health and resistances and high armor.
It also doesn't help that a lot of my attacks are so slow, so I'm trading half the time. Also death explosions and ground damage fields are completely destroying me.
I'm comparing how I'm playing to people making guide videos and higher level players doing content very fast as warriors, and I feel like I'm doing the same shit. I'm rolling to avoid the bigger attacks and trying to kill things before they hit me. But it just feels utterly miserable.
I got up to Geonor and managed to kill him, but it was an absolute slog. I even had 75% frost resistance. It took me like 5 to 10 minutes, not sure wasn't counting, but it took ages. I even went out of my way to get this skill called Perfect Strike that a lot of the guides recommend using, but that shit was fucking awful. My basic attacks did a lot more DPS than that. And yes, I was timing it perfectly, so the release isn't an issue.

in case you are actually this new, they added tiers to the orbs in 0.3 so that regular ones are meant for use during the campaign and early maps, and greater and perfect orbs are meant for higher levels of gear after that. so don't worry about saving orbs other than valuable shit like divines that are unlikely to drop in the campaign. same with runes, no point holding onto them, they are somewhat rare during the campaign now, but in endgame there are plenty and they're cheap to buy.

This has been my experience, with 138% rarity and a decently routed tree I get jack fucking shit.

You know I was actually wondering if that was the issue, when I was nearing the end of the campaign and just starting maps I was being flooded with T1-3 maps, I probably have 60 of them sitting in my tab. Now that I've refined my gear I literally only get the singular guaranteed waystone drop per map.

With the same setup in 0.2 I'd see 3-8 waystones per map run, ranging from lower to higher tiers, something is definitely fucked up.

This is my weapon as of A4, I have like 2m gold from my other guy, I keep gambling every chance I get. Also 1.2k HP and 1k armour.
My complaints were more of a comparison. Everyone glazed warrior as the best leveler and I had the worst experience so far. Bows have lightning rod since basically lvl1, monk is rough at like A1 but as soon as you get ice strike you're cruising, crossbows are kinda annoying having to wait for grenades to go off but as soon as you hit explosive shot you won't see a boss get off a single mechanic. Here it's pain and having to put effort for every single white pack.

I've gotten to end game and killed Xesht on Warrior in both .1 and .2
I've skipped it for .3 because I'm just sick and tired of how slow they are. And it's not something that you can fix without serious investment. And even then, calling it "fixed" is a bit of a stretch.
In .3 you can get a Haste Aura Companion that helps, I played around with it a bit on one of my characters that I respec'd to use Mace just to test it. It's good but not a real proper fix and even then, you need Viper Cap to get competitive speed with other classes, which is 100% getting nerfed next season and even more so, will cost you an arm and a leg for the 5 surrounded mod, so up until that point and getting the correct nodes which is like 60+, you're basically fucked.
Mace skills are also just generally terrible except for a few. It's weird that they've basically made stun priming and boneshattering the main way to level because it's so unreliable compared to other classes.

I really can't wait for axes and swords. I don't think anyone will ever play Maces again when we get Axes and Swords.

Block chance at 50% basically doubles your life and a 2hander is much better. Sadly Warrior is just not playable without giants blood unless you're doing warcry warrior. And yeah don't sweat it, warrior is widely considered by non-Chinks as the worst class in the game for a lot of reasons. No. You can start doing it the second you get your Ascendancy. Use Infernal Cry with Corrupting Cry, don't level Infernal Cry past level 3. Use Blood Magic when you can. Once you have two Auras, Magma Barrier to scale Bloodbarrier without investing into Block early (so you can put all your points into STR). And later Time of Need with things like Compressed Duration, Cannibalist and Vitality, you can switch to Seismic Cry. Again, never level it up past it's base level.
However, until you have a decent amount of life while leveling, at least 1k+ and at least 50% block, you'll also be relying on Earth Shatter and Forge Hammer to fight bosses. But once you have 75% Block and at least 3k hp, you can pretty much just speed all the way through to t15's.

If you want to push further, you'll need Kaoms and the 3% Ruby HP Jewels to hit upwards of 7 to 8k HP. And you might need to dual spec / weapon switch with Totems. Which is insanely strong this league, so you should be able to do all content like that.

in poe2 it is completely possible for a brand new person to the game to start playing, pick a skill, develop it into a build, and use that build to complete all of the existing content in the game, all without watching any streamers, youtube videos, or looking at any guides. this hasn't been realistically possible in poe1 for a decade.

For me it's Shield Charge since the buff in .3
>Shield Charge + Brink + Stun + Rapid Attacks
Then just boneshatter as normal. Probably the easiest time I've had with Warrior since .3
Armor is actually good with Armor Applying to Elemental Damage.
Block is absolutely top tier now where it blocks everything.

It's still not comparable to leveling as Minions or Deadeye. But it's definitely the easiest warrior time I've had.
Except for bosses. Bosses are a pain in the ass now because of the nerf to perfect strike.

I've used it up to t15's in .2
It was great for map clearing. One of the faster lower budget builds for Warrior.
But I couldn't manage to scale it past t15's at all.

I've heard some people are using the multi spec thingy with weapon swaps to get their single target with Totems and seeing great success because totems are strong as fuck this league, but I haven't seen it in action myself so I can't say.
