KH fans just couldn't handle that the characters didn't interact with everyone like their fanfictions. Like they expect Roxas to have an identity crisis about looking like Ventus when he already accepted being his own guy, and Xehabort is seconds away from becoming God. I blame the MCU.

I'm not expecting IV to be like COM or DDD in giving Riku playtime, but I have to wonder what's going to stop Riku from immediately reuniting with Sora in Quadratum. Because Nomura loves separating those two for an emotional endgame reunion.

I think Unreality might have different layers or versions. Kind of like in Dream Drop Distance, where Sora and Riku were in the same worlds but still separated.

Maybe something similar is happening here. Sora is in the version of Unreality where he won the fight against not!Noctis, while Riku is in a version where Sora lost and got frozen.

Also, Riku’s eye has that strange coloration. What if it allows him to see across different realities? Maybe he can glimpse the version where Sora is. Or it could be tied to the astral plane somehow.

I think all the meta stuff is probably true too but I think it's also really supposed to feel like an allusion to the afterlife and real life at once. I cant get into this too deep but all of humanity revolves around stories. The MoM stuff has major allusions to theology from Norse to Christian and the way he talks about unreality is the same reason why people believe in the afterlife. People need stories basically.

Melody of Memory is actually pretty fun. I'm dogshit at rhythm games so I'll keep on beginner mode but I'm enjoying it.
Kairi's narration is interesting. She sounds like she did in KH2 but it's still Alyson Stoner credited for the voice over. Did she suddenly get really good at impersonating Hayden Panettiere? I'm not complaining, KH2 Kairi's voice is my favorite one for her. She sounds so vastly different in KH3.

I'd want it go through every single world ever played in the KH series with a monster roster of characters to race as, including alts/skins for characters who have been seen in different forms. Anyways, I challenge you. Make a story! Make it important to the lore! And I don't see the likes of Master of Masters, Invi, and the rest of those serious guys getting involved in something silly like a kart race, but you get bonus points if you think up ways to make them fit into the storyline. I'll even reward you with extra credit if you include some hidden story scene that you need to 100% the game before seeing.

Easy, go with the staple of the series: It's data. Make it Sora's parallel story to Kairi's dive in Melody of Memory.
Sora uses the heart network he figured out in ReMind to upload as many memories as he can get his hands on to a computer and combs every inch of those memories trying to find anything that might help him escape Quadratum (side note, this will be the first time he "remembers" Chain of Memories). Things go south, he has to solve some other problem with help from his new Quadratum friends, and discovers some new information that sets up the next entry in some small way.
I won't bother with the bonus points because I barely understand Mastro and his disciples as it is.

Your story works great, but let me try. I was thinking about something like Dark Cloud 2’s golfing. It’s silly for those busy fighters to be spending time playing golf, but they’re closing time anomaly portals. Maybe something like that could happen in KH. The characters need to create gummi karts and ride around in a hurry to deal with anomalies caused by Darklings or whatever. Maybe racing across all worlds strengthens the friendship connections so that they don’t fade away due to a cosmic anomaly, something like that.

As much as I adore KH’s writing and lore, trying to think this up makes me appreciate the simplicity of the Mario world. Why are they having a race/sport tournament/party? Because they want to have silly fun. Done.

It's kinda weird how the Organization in KH3 keeps bringing up the "New Seven Hearts" and threatens the heroes with the possibility that they'll go after them if they don't play along and assemble seven lights and fight the thirteen darknesses. And I realized it's probably because in the time span between BBs and KH3, Xehanort probably realized, "Oh shit, my plans would have been completely ruined if Terra, Aqua, and Ventus just decided not to come fight me at the Keyblade Graveyard that day. It's a good thing they were so stupid. Next time I do this shit, I'd better have some good insurance to make sure my pawns have to fall into my clutches."

Xehanort's plans to forge the X-blade were inherited by his alternate selves, Ansem and Xemnas, even if they didn't remember it consciously. Their subconscious memory compelled their actions.
For Ansem, he gathered 7 shards of light in the form of the seven Princesses of Heart, reworking the plan into opening the Door to Darkness he was building.
For Xemnas, he gathered 13 vessels of darkness in the form of Organization XIII, reworking the plan into recovering (or recreating) their missing hearts.

The New Seven Hearts is just Xehanort telling the heroes that if they refuse to cooperate he's not phased and can still proceed without them.

The reports do say that they are mostly driven by instinct. Because rewatching it I just realized Sora is obviously going to get reality warping powers like the protagonist in Dark City. DDD and KH3 has Ansem the Wise and Ysn Sid reiterate that Sora can make things real and Sora is currently lost in a world of fiction. And in Dark City the protagonist learns to 'tune' and alter reality and basically control the entire Dark City. It's possible the antagonists in Quadratum can do this. Its probably what Stella is doing.

The reason this isn't schizo is because it heavily inspired Kingdom Hearts 2 and KHUX. That's where the idea for entire World that Never Was came from. And why Xemnas can move buildings and why he was trying to understand hearts. TWTNW' capital city is Dark City it's not even remotely subtle. Then they basically redid those ideas for the Darkness and made them even more like the alien hivemind in the movie. And so Quadratum is basically the new reality mindbending city like the movie Dark City.


Dark City is the key to all of this.

I've noticed that in this series' fanbase people really hate the idea of someone obeying their duty over their personal relationships. Which is why Eraqus gets a lot of hate from certain fans. I just veered toward dedicating decks to certain kinds of magic like fire and whatnot, and I'd use sleights that emphasized that element when necessary. For Vexen for example, his weakness to fire is extreme so I'd go out of my way to build a high value fire deck with a few physical cards in for certain sleights I felt were necessary. Summons are pretty good too but I've never bothered to make a deck emphasizing them, maybe I should.

The best way I can describe it is that KH1 was directed like a Disney game, while every game after was directed like a JRPG. Though even those have variances. KH1 is definitely understated with its cutscene direction, always straight to the point with no filler.

Adding onto this; kh2's drive forms are a blast to play around with, but they remove a lot of that risk. You've effectively been given three full heals so long as you have a max drive gauge, and it's easy to proc a fourth if you drop into a lower level drive like valor.

i think the only real why is to make it work like magic, so it's tied to a gauge but one or a few actions don't deplete the whole bar (besides healing), like drives or idk shotlocks or whatever instead do. They could bring back that charge gauge from KH1 for this, while keeping MP working how they worked since KH2, so the charge gauge replenishes with every attack or whatever and has more "charges" than just 3. I mean these attacks are not supposed to be screen nukes after all, no sense to limit them that much

By the time it takes to get them you can just get the dream rod and rapidly after, save the king and save the queen, and if you're running Goofy as a support member more than a damage one, defender is quite pointless iirc its stats corrects.

I was really suprised that they fixed some bugs like being able to get Star rank Dream Eaters on % based recipes.
I wasted a bunch of materials using the ol' Gamefaq list on Toximander lmao.

I love this game, it's better than I remember, I didn't spam Flowmotion+Ballonra and actually bothered to use other commands this time, Zero Graviga fixes mobs and on bosses I do recommend Ballonra (kek) anything else it's an invite to be combo'd to death.

I think to be a good writer above all is to be able to make your readers feel things. Nomura is still able to do this, so I would say yes. KH3 had problems but it and Remind had some really cool moments.
