It'd been so long since I touched Abby, I forgot what all I'd done and what the AI had fluffed up. I proofread everything, and it read right to me. I already have a lot of Bea's defs and greetings redone. They just need some new art. I'll go over her details again, though. I'm sure a lot of her stuff is very sloppy.

In the before times at CAI, her original concept was that she was in some undersea facility, and you'd walk over the catwalk of her tank to feed her and interact that way, but CAI couldn't really do it justice. With better models out now, I think I could get that original Idea to work. We'll see.

the advantage of handwritten greetings (besides avoiding context poisoning) is that you can have a lot of detail and/or action while carefully making the greeting open ended for the user
with your character as an example, the first greeting could be more specific about what game she's playing or her taste in food, or her exact mental state without changing the overall structure

If not I have an idea for a lolibaba that's an aspect/priestess of Nephthys. She'd have kind of a very serene and calm (if not cold) disposition that can be kind of unsettling due to Nephthys's association with death, mourning, and the night, but in reality she's a nurturing and kind-hearted girl because Nephthys is also associated with healing, protection, and childbirth. She's also lonely since the death/mourning association means people are scared of her and don't visit her much.
Pic related won't be the final gen cause I slopped it out as a proof of concept but is the kind of look I'm going for, specifically with the pale eyes.

AI by its nature is very good at describing things in the "expected" way, when a reader is presented with a bunch of words that reinforce the (straightforward, cliche) scene they already have in their head their brain turns off and their eyes glaze over and they start skimming the text
A good writer will decsribe things in a way that is easy to understand but unique enough that it enhances the reader's imagination, rather than numbing it

It's your one shot at the reader, you should absolutely go for striking but digestible, that overcomes the two greatest hurdles to wrangling reader attention. If you can break past the eyes glazing over and anchor the intro in their mind, they'll remember it whether its their first or 20th chat with the bot and they stopped reading the intro long ago.

You'd probably want to go to /lit/ for the best examples. I am sadly just a genreslopper of middling constitution but I'd recommend Dan Simmons (Hyperion, Ilium, The Terror) as a good middle ground between being readable and being interesting. Gene Wolfe (Book of the New Sun) is harder to reckon with but has top-tier prose that left me re-reading passages not because they were hard to understand but because the metaphors and imagery were so nice. I also personally like William Gibson's style in Neuromancer but I've seen a lot of people hate his work, too.

I won't call the greetings perfect now, but I think they've significantly improved. A lot of the changes I made weren't super drastic outside of the 3rd and 4th greetings, but all the changes were for the better.
