Erik and Alma found a metallic web of some sort that they say belong to an unclassified Temnoceran. They're busy arguing about it in the camp and I took that as my cue to escape before they as me to do things for them.

I traveled to the Grand Hub the moment I stepped foot on it I knew it is a wonderful day for hunterkind, so many hunters tackling contracts and quests!

The first contract I joined is to slay a Seregios and Rey Dau. I accompanied a Long Sword user named Krothar we were soon followed by a Bowgunner named Griffin and a Gothtress named Melissa. Everything went well with very little hiccups, which probably means I'm getting better! Or the hunters I'm with are just on a different level and they probably were because I keep Krothat and some glinting lines of his Long Sword only to realize it was his after image while Melissa seems to have a good grasp of her Charge Blade. Sadly I couldn't say much about Griffin though, I just know he's shooting aaaaaand umm....shooting.
Anyway we were able to capture the Seregios and Griffin made a comment that we didn't ask for consent to capture it. Maybe he's right. This is probably harrasment. I should report this to guild but I don't know who captured it. :/

For my second hunt I was accompanied by two legendary hunters from the New World, Kany and Bloodlust Mira! Melissa joined us too!

It was a contract for an Arkveld and Rey Dau and it went about as well as you would expect. The Gothress was using a Gunlance and so was Bloodlust Mira but that is to be expected, I believe she has a reputation for being the Mistress of Gunlances. I was always a fan of her even back in the new world but she always seemed to be SRS business and unapproachable. That and I rarely see here when Seliana was established. Kany of course was with his trusty Great Sword while I carried my trusty Lance (need to make sure I don't make a full of myself with carting)
We made quick work of the Arkveld which fought with the Rey Dau before succumbing to the injuries our team inflicted. The Rey Dau was very easy, perhaps it already knew the outcome of our hunt but still it tried its best to struggle. In no time we were standing on the corpse of a Rey Dau.

My third and last hunts were with the same company of misfits. The Gothress Melissa, the Horner Astrid (ugh) and some guy decked out in full plate armor calling himself Todd Howard. I'd like to tell more about our Nu Udra and Arkveld hunt but honestly it was a blur for some reason, I know we won and stuff but Todd Howards was throwing some sort of powder by the end I kind of forgot what happened.

Anyway my last hunt was with a Gore Magala. I was already prepared to cart once or twice but surprisingly cart once I did not :D maybe Astrid made sure that her entire team would be alive to see the quest through. Gott give her some props and Guild Commendation when I get the chance. Everyone did amazingly well on the hunt and despite the Gore Magala striking fear into me, I felt like with my companions I can do anything! Todd Howard was amazing with the Sword and Shield, he reminds me of a dear friend named Arcmen and they both look like hunting knights too! The Gothress did some Charge Blade stuff and Astrid did some dooting while I made a few bonks here and there. I can't help but wonder how the Guild in the Forbidden Lands will fare when Elder Dragons return from their migration in the New World. I can't imagine a Teostra or a Nergigante with the same ferocity of the Gore Magala we are hunting. Can you imagined Frenzied Elders? Gives me goosebumps. But hey with hunters from /mhg/ I know it just works!

The Seikret pickup nearly killed me more times than it was useful due to how random it is. The real thing that kills me is that I cannot tell many times in which state my character is after getting hit as they added so many different animations and states that have similarities but with some you are on the ground with iframes and others your character will stand up. It wasn't necessary that some attacks now send you flying, spinning through the air, bouncing off the ground either. Fuck this realistic shit. I cannot stand the monster damage as well. Mega pots heal jack shit given how much damage monsters do and the free restock is obviously the reason for this. They even give you free stock if you cart straight into your Seikret.

I've tried that, didn't go very well.
the problem is finding opening is kinda tricky in Wilds because monsters don't "turn around" anymore. moreover, your fastest poke and after roll option is gone (double hit poke) so it's a bit risky to press anything. RSS is so effective because your main combo is basically "release charge input" and by the time monster move again, you already RSS damage dump out of danger and then reset to neutral instead of rolling out and pray you get another opening. I also believe that roll cancel out of attacks is slower than previous two games except for said charged input.
