Bg4 in that position is a pretty bad mistake if white takes the center with d4. Black starts suffering from tons of pressure very early on due to the weaknesses created and lack of development. I recommend you to take a look at the game in this link on an analysis board, see how black can get completely crushed after that move.

Doesn't even apply just to this particular opening, very early Bg4 pins are a relatively common inaccuracy for allowing early attacks. The book Art of Checkmate has an entire section on that iirc. Here's another very famous example of a bad pin.

The second game of the 73rd Oza title match is being played, between Sota Fujii (sente, the Oza title holder) and Takumi Ito. The time control is 5 hours per game, and the match is a best of 5 (Fujii leads 1-0).
The opening was bishop exchange. Instead of playing a normal symmetrical setup, Ito played rapid-advancing silver against Fujii's reclining silver, resulting in a sharp position.

It IS based on chess and you would know that very well if you had ever actually bothered to study Morphy's games instead of looking at stats and forming opinions based on vibes.
Saying he was the GOAT is an exaggeration but there's no denying at all that the guy was a tactical genius. His sacrificial winning combinations and the way he perfectly crafted the positions that allowed them was nothing short of amazing. Morphy cemented the fucking principles as we know them today. Steinitz and all the others used to play romantically, and Morphy liked doing the same but with some finesse. Steinitz started to understand all these "fancy" moves and such and started the whole positional chess due to Morphy and the rest is history. Most of the Morphy's people show are casual games, as he was doing tours and shit, it gets to a point where I hate The Opera game a little. The tournament games are more interesting.

I never noticed them do anything for my progress and my main strength is tactics. Just play and study your games and gain experience and familiarity with the game and you’ll be far better off than spamming puzzles. I play a lot of puzzletards with high ratings who never see any tactics, because spamming puzzles is basically a separate game and doesn’t necessarily translate to the flow of a chess game, where positions aren’t presented to you with an implied solution. But when you just focus on getting better at the game itself, you’ll be better at orchestrating positions where puzzle-esque tactics come into play, and you won’t miss them

I've been getting into 10+0 after being a boooolet and sometimes blitz spammer for a couple months. It's actually really relaxing to just chill knowing you have a bunch of time behind you and calculate casually, explore ideas on you and your opponent's time. I even end up having MORE time than my opponent because they play so slowly, and I don't even have to rush!

In normal games they have it set to castle whether you move king to the rook or one square. In 960 for some reason you have to very carefully and deliberately move the king to the rook. Gotta fix
