Scrubs yes. Scrubs are most players. Even in a much stronger AA game like Halo, most controller users are innacurate as fuck, taking iften 6+ BR shots to kill. At this point, which again is the standard, it's an aiming issue in general.

If you're a decent 2+ k/d player, try solo queuing a couple matches and get a feeling for the level of your opposition. Then, find a buddy with a lesser k/d and queue with him- I've consistently noticed that the difference in general player competence is massive. Not even close.

I also noticed that the closed weapon playlist seems to have a separate elo from normal matchmaking. If you haven't tried it yet, load up closed weapons and see if your first couple games are vs. decent players or not. In my case the first two or so were vs. very casual players and the subsequent ones were the usual sweatfests I was used to on normal matchmaking.

I've also heard good old fashioned reverse boosting works fine as well, but I haven't tried that yet myself.

Oh the game 100% has sbmm. I only got the game 2 days ago so the "its launch day so people are stupid" period passed. My first 5-6 matches or so resulted in me easily getting kills and enemies in general having slow reaction time to me. All the matches after that have been nothing but people playing like cod montage players jump shooting around corners with the m4 or smgs.

Fun fact, I have yet to have been killed a single time by a DMR in this game, and in my time trying to use the first two DMRs, I have only managed a total of 8 kills between them.

It's a little rediculous in CoD.
Ironically, it's actually not that bad in Halo despite a major discrepancy there, but that has more to do with which playerbase has map/weapon spawn knowlege.
For example in Halo snipers are significantly better with a mouse, and you cab do certain moves with vehicles that are impossible with controller. But if you're on the turret of a machine gun with a controller it's easier to stay on someone.

uncs here took months if not years to grind a single gun to max mastery in old games

for contrast, at 360 kills you unlocked all attachments
in bfv for example, the gold camo was unlocked after level 10 on a gun, and doing a series of ridiculous assignments like 10 headshot kills in a single match on an objective while prone

I managed to get BF6 running at 165 Hz smoothly in all scenarios (including Conquest 32V32) on my meager 3060 + i5 11400F by sticking everything except textures to lowest/off, DLSS Ultra Performance + 90% render scale, Frame Gen On with max framerate limit outside of game to 76. My bottleneck is CPU so offloading more frames to the frame gen seems to have done the trick. Every mouth breathing YouTuber is spouting the same "leave frame gen off, it creates input lag" but there's no noticeable input latency even on kb+m, I would guess it's like the new Lossless Scaling where latency is essentially a non-issue now.

The maps are so fucking flavorless and have no real memorable arenas or landmarks. How many parts of these maps do you really find as memorable as stuff in prior BF games, like Ballroom Blitz's ballroom?
Iberian Offensive is a good map mechanically but completely forgettable. Saints has nothing. Empire State has nothing. Manhattan Bridge has nothing because the deathpit objective in the middle is ruined by B-site making 2 of the 4 entrances non-starters. Mirak has...the home objectives? Liberation has nothing, Siege of Cairo has nothing, Sobek has less than nothing.
The only memorable part of any of the maps is that playing Firestorm C-point is a madhouse but I'm not giving EA credit for having their only memorable bit of any of their maps being a game that released almost 15 years ago

Half the maps in BF3/4 were just some random Desertstan location because that's where conflicts of that time IRL were taking place. The maps in BF1 are the most memorable the series has ever had but that's mainly because it let the artists stretch their legs and do some cool old fashioned architecture and picturesque landscapes, and because it was a real life historical conflict you already knew the context.

You don't get that in a modern one, it's just random locations from GeoGuesser.

I disagree. They have lanes but not nearly enough flow and cover to account for good map or area designs like more classic BF maps have. I'm way too tired to explain in full detail but previous BF maps had large patches of nothingness that allowed for some downtime between objective play. BF6 maps don't have this and they feel oppressive as a result. There are no areas where you get downtime. The ones meant for downtime, are heavily traversed and don't allow you to switch off your brain for 10 seconds before getting to the next busy area.
Like you said, this is not reminiscent of more classic BF maps.

I see your argument but from what I played in the beta, ALL lanes are more or less active. there is little to no empty space to move around and try to flank, unlike in pic related where there's enough space to do exactly that. Notice how there's lots of pathways between objectives, with enough terrain deformation to make traversal between combat zones possible. In BF6 the maps are designed in such a way that there are no such empty zones. And if there are, they're always covered by someone or actively being used for flanks.
