FOR US STORYBROS. I asked news on the translation issues.

It seems they aren't fixing S.ember story this patch yet. There will be a partial fix translation this update. Older stories are also being reviewed and are getting fixed. They are gonna update it all in a single patch. So the translation on the Viella story is also machine translated for now as it was done prior to M9 partnership(Horrible news). Maybe on the next patch if everything goes to schedule. M9 also hiring artist for OST related stuff. Marketing campaign still in preparation.

okay from what I can tell she's worth bringing against bosses with adds when not considering EE+10 and vs water bosses. nothing crazy, but not a brick anymore, plus the guaranteed reduced defense is pretty nice to have. the cd reduction is also pretty nice to have on burst 3 to make sure you're always able to clear adds for bosses reliant on them as a mechanic. still, this pretty much depends on her being able to close to one-shot them, or she's worse than quite a few other options in that regard, so you can't really minimum invest her comparitively to get decent results.

the additional hp scaling damage is still pretty useless afaik when compared to atk, and penetration with atk substats looks like her go-to set.

don't think she's for any ranking stuff like guild raid with all this, but pretty welcome in the other modes. still wouldn't +10 her EE as a priority though

NIKKEfucker here. In Outerplane you can relatively easily get all standard characters, and their dupes too, for free, that much is true and in that it's clearly superior.
The key difference lies in "premium" and limited characters. The equivalent in NIKKE to UR/Demiurge are Pilgrims (and now Over-spec), and the are also seasonal limiteds (and now Pilgrim limiteds as of this year).
The deciding factor is that in NIKKE pity does carry over and is permanent, no strings attached, you can use it in banners of new units, Pilgrims, limiteds and collabs. Each roll gives 1 ticket and you can buy any 1 unit with 200 tickets. Rates are 2% for rate-up characters except Pilgrim/Overspec which are 1%. SSR chance in general is 4%. In NIKKE the dupes do relatively very little, they only give ~2% more stats each, at MLB (3 dupes) you get the skill 3 cutscene as a lobby wallpaper, at 2 dupes you can max their bond (bond story unlocks at bond 10 with zero dupes, max bond gives only a bit more stats) (Pilgrims have max bond 40 instead of 30 and require then 3 dupes). There's also a new system sort of a "retrofit"/"awakening" for buffing older units that needs 2 dupes to unlock. NIKKE F2P have good QoL to catch up and get the newest strongest units too.
Now in Outerplane we know how rates, currency and pity work for Demiurges and Limited/Festival. It leaves a lot to be desired in comparison especially as F2P.
On a high note, I must say I'm happy with the Demiurge selector/Contract events as a new player, I got to get Monad Eva to 6* and now Demi Vlada to 5*. I also still have my transfer selector to get Evil Woman, and even if I had to pity I got 1 Demi Luna when she came out. I have also been able to get at least 1 copy of the limiteds since I started. I just wish so much wasn't locked behind maxing dupes, which is the trend for every new unit now.
I love both games and I would like the Outerrise to learn and integrate the good things from NIKKE as much as possible.

There’s teams without Demi delta for farming those so you don’t have to do that, but if you don’t plan to use her for other stuff it’s whatever.

Honestly though I’m pretty sure most people dislike the turn limit mechanic. Not because of difficulty but because it narrows too much, just like how end game monad gate is currently a chore because it relies heavily on rng.

I feel like anything turn limited can’t have too many restrictions otherwise you’re making the meta too boring. It’s one thing for occasional events like world bosses, those don’t require you to constantly play them even during the event. But anything like irregular/monad that’s a permanent fixture has to factor in the fun factor a lot more, it has to stay refreshing and a huge component of that for long term gameplay is tactical variety, not specialization.

All that said I have no solution to said issue, this seems to be a big issue I’ve come across in any vidya.

I don't see how it can be worse from my POV, they have lowered/slashed prices across the board and added more value/features to existing subscription/packages.
Mission pass is the same or better (I think they added more content/value but I didn't check yet). Step Up is the same or better (except for the skin but that also depends, if you already bought it all then it's a plus). Limited Pack/Flash Sale/Hot Deals (several names) are the same or better.
Gacha is the same. (Can actually use improvement there as we know of course.)
Rewards for F2P have increased I believe, the Festival/Demiurge/Skin events are very welcome.
This is why we need concise info of what they are gathering from those communities. I can buy we have yet to improve in certain things but no way we should be worse than before but objectively better.
Do pass this on in some form if it's useful in some way.

Outerplane social media tends to have a lot of remnants of the mixed toilet era, so you gotta look at it from their perspective to understand where they are coming from. More importantly if you wanna be accurate then you gotta look at real numbers like sales and who those sales belongs to. After that you gotta ask yourselves what is the direction that as devs you wanna take the game because if the direction starts being a chore you will lose motivation fast, a sure fire way to kill quality long term and this game doesn’t have the leeway to do that.

I’m a skins guy, so in my case I get suckered easily like with the Dianne package or the previous selector because I wanted to reward Dahlia for carrying me in PvP, only to have her retired right after. Even then I didn’t regret it since I felt the value. But that’s just me.

That said I don’t recommend taking discord and Reddit seriously. At least as a person who plays this game for waifus and can easily rank top 10 (like I played more casually for 3 weeks and now I shot back up to top 10 where I’ve been for months) in PvP I’ve come to the conclusion that most of the people who use discord/reddit as their boy’s chat group is severely lacking in self reflection and has no idea how opposing opinions work. You can see how they chimp out over nothing and act like an echo chamber despite sperging at each other everyday. Like on 4chan no matter which board you can get the feeling that deep down everyone knows how degenerate they are behaving, but these guys are acting like they made Concord. It’s not even about their stance, it’s about how they lack self awareness.

Suggestion: Experiment with wave transition. Right now the process is wave 1 -> run right, wave 2, run right, wave 3 boss, end with some dialogue in between at most. Lost Sword gave a bit of variety where some stages are reversed and this matters in that game because the formation is kept, but it’s not a big deal because they only change it per stage not mid stage.

I’m not saying to do that because frankly formation in this game matters a lot less. However visually given this is an anime isekai fanservice game how about paying homage to those duel scenes where the fighters run along as they fight or situations like where the enemy retreats and you can see them running away as the party chases them?

Fighting while moving foe transition is a very unrealistic suggestion but I just wanted to throw it out there in case it gives inspiration. More importantly I feel you can use my retreat idea to create transitions that look visually different from world bosses while having a different mechanic, mainly as the enemy enters phase 2/3/etc your party sustains their progress, so there might be stages where players end up saving up resources before knocking the boss and then the turn count limit resets. More tactical variety while not just meaningless numbers but with visual changes too.

Another example is like say those horror movie situations. So say we fight wave 1 vs mobs in a story stage, we beat them down wave 1, they retreat and we chase, meet reinforcements in wave 2 so we fight wave 1 + 2 with wave 1 maybe having half hp or something to show the damage they took. Then say we clear wave 2, the mobs run to wave 3, but lo and behold some crazy monster like Tyrant Toddler blows through a wall of a building and smashes them dead. Now wave 3 is a boss completely unrelated but visually we went through a lot without needing boring dialogue VN style. I have nothing against VN style but it shouldn’t be the only form of story telling as it alienates the combat.

I keep falling for this severe grifting of season 3 and side stories but then I find out its just recycled and reproduced nonsense of the same setting to push new characters, like the garten of banban and cladun sequels. the setting has boxed itself into a comical deadend since its a closed world and has to me resorted to using discarded concept ideas. you need a full fresh cast for the new story that don't act one dimensional and fresh landscapes and this time it just feels bland. as one of those that hasn't, they are 100% going to turn the guild raid eva pod into a story boss, which is ugh.

I don’t know if this is intended and I’m not looking at it from a balance pov only a fun factor pov, but Summer Ember’s buff removal is really inconsistent with other buff removals. Correct me if I’m wrong but all other buff removers regardless of mechanics will remove the buff or reduce the buff duration first before dealing damage, yet Summer Ember can use an s3 burning over 100 AP and against someone with only 1 invincibility buff will do 0 damage and just take away the buff. It’s stupid as hell from a risk vs reward and at this point I’d rather use s2 to buff herself in hopes to outlasting the buffs.

On that note, I think they need to better exploit the 2D artwork for advertising since 3D doesn't look that well until you play it and particularly so on the ads I saw. 3d can work if you have more camera options, especially during combat. Visually Outerplane choreograph mogs the fucking shit out of every gacha on the planet once you factor in not only sex appeal but also actual visibility. The two great rivals, HSR and 7DSGC both fail in one of these aspects and have to make it up another way but in terms of pound for pound gacha choreograph combat between waifus Outerplane is still cutting edge.

The real weakness that’s a bit more resource intensive perhaps is that the game doesn’t transition these amazing choreograph move sets into the story properly. The cutscenes/storytelling in comparison is very bare boned and lacks that DBZ/SAO/SL/etc back and forth action that would easily hype up casuals for a trailer of a new content patch.

Sounds weird because as an actual person who enjoys the gameplay I should put the horse before the cart, but in terms of attracting new players it’s obvious trailers do more than core gameplay.

Another issue is because the game has a real shit ton of dailies and stuff like raids usually requires time consuming chores like swapping gear around and shit, most casuals don’t even have time or enthusiasm to sit through the beautiful animation. After all their busy lives deem it hard to resist skip options. This is a really difficult issue I have zero confidence in offering suggestions on, but I think the devs should at least be aware. It’s also not an issue exclusive to this game, almost all gacha have this issue which is how games like HSR can get away with focusing more budget on the overworld than combat animation. After all from a greedy pov, if you can play as Michael Bay and direct every new gacha character to full up the screen with explosions and special effects 90% of the time so nobody can bother looking at your motions why bother with the hard work?

the overall outerplane roster does a pretty good job of toeing the line when it comes to releasing new characters without directly powercreeping others of similar roles thanks to the restrictions content puts you through, but these characters either slip through those restrictions with how much their kit is capable of over the others or are just so good at their role it's worth forgoing all else in team composition but making them work.

hasn't gotten so bad yet that we've reached nikke levels or anything, just hope that doesn't continue with limited/premium characters PvE wise at least. would rather more characters like o. nadja, g.beth and s.regina - characters that are good at what they do, but not nearly everything related to their role in general.

OP doesn't do this as much and even when they do, it isn't as direct or blatant. nikke gets away with this because of their pity system working on ALL rate ups, so nobody really cares. ive OL'd so many nikkes in that game that cant even come close to 1/4th the damage while on-element of a min rolled Cinderella off-element. but in outerplane, I can single target DPS with regina or francesca or hell, even standard pool rangers if i build around it, and actually clear as quick as if I did using most premiums or limiteds on endgame.

simply put, I like being able to use characters I like because they are functional, and not fucking yulha, base vesti (yes I'm mad i had to roll her alt to use her again), brid or crow who just exist on my lobby screen and nowhere else. and guess what else? they sell skins for these outdated units too, but they don't even care about letting you see them used again!

Oh I got’cha, totally agree the kits of outerplane heroes so far has not reached a saturation point of overlapping everything. The only absolute useless heroes are certain 1-2* that are powercrept by other 1-2* so they can’t even fit in the very hard tower. Like I’ve never used the ox guy, the wires guy, and I still haven’t found Nauru’s use other than super sentai cosplay.

Because Outerplane has a relatively smaller roster I won’t give the game an absolute edge yet because I dunno how VAGames will deal with this potential issue in the future. If IP laws didn’t forbid it I wouldn’t mind this game just straight up using the characters themselves. Collabs are one thing, but other than collabs where the party basically owns both IPs and has free reign to do what they want with it I’ve basically never seen a collab explore proper collab ideas extensively and bring the true magic of the concept of collabs into fruition. The hindering of IP laws basically not only makes red tape a hassle and thus the official parties involved never create anything amazing (which is why Outerplane x Danmachi can rise above others, simply because the bar is rock bottom) but more importantly the grassroots level of the fanbase basically has no ideas of their own in this regard;

This can be visibly proven by comparing fanfiction of various regions; the west where IP laws hammer you down like whack a mole will produce a decent piece of work at 1/10000th the rate that the chinks do. Of course when it comes to originality this flips right back, but that’s not the point the point is that for fiction there’s room for a certain genre that has been lawfully forbidden.

Like I would love for an official collab but I would bet millions that unless someone like Blackrock forcibly paid them off no amount of collaboration would allow these writers to come up with the crazy shit like Holy Grail War? Dragon Ball Wars! Even though in theory it’s such a universally attractive concept writers would have no issue pulling it off in an official capacity, but then you look at JumpForce stories and such and the only ones that come close are the SRW line, and once again those are mostly all owned by 1 group.

But fans aren’t like that, as long as they are given room to work even if their quality as a writer is lower by magnitudes, at least they will come up with ideas that are basically make them look like a final boss rival in Bakuman. This is simply due to their freedom, nothing else.

Damn this game changed a lot. I dropped it only because I was playing too many things and this simply wasn't cutting but this game still has a soft spot in my heart like no other.
It seems to have a lot more fanservice now, although I am not sure if it's just the artwork that's more erotic or they are pandering to (you) more as well.

smilegate "didn't support them" because that's not what their megaport branch does, which contracted with them and only does publisher duty. in the end thats a blessing because it looks like their entertainment branch which also does development may be partially responsible for the czn fuckup. outerplane being a small development group is their decision, and what does it matter? expedition 33 was made of 33 core developers and the rest outsourced.

D. Luna can be argued by purists but I do not believe H Dianne and S. Regina warrant any real complaints. I was basically the only H Dianne user in top 100 for 4 months before anyone copied my poor ass and even then I was the only top 10-20 user of H Dianne period and all I could do was pick off the team comps that allowed me to cheese. I don’t even think for one moment Summer Regina was anywhere broken in both pve and PvP, she’s more like designed for gimmick fights like needing to remove buffs but boss has buff removal immunity.

Subjectively I felt D. Luna being as strong as she is can be warranted if only because she had high aesthetic/production appeal, with the main unique being how her s2 changes her up while also propped up by sexo animations that are also very cool looking. She basically hit the general design aesthetics of say Nikke’s Cinderella, so it’s easier to forgive given this is a waifu gacha now.

If there’s anything for me to complain about immediately it’s that pve is currently too limited in what to use end game. EE+10 is a good example of not efficiently transforming the majority of heroes. You got game breakers like Maxwell (hurray the strongest offensive EE+10 is on a dude) but then Kanon gets something so weak I don’t even know if whales would ever consider getting it. If it added +1 weakness on all attacks instead of just burst then yeah great pve upgrade worthy but on burst only? Her burst doesn’t even offer damage so you only save for b3 anyways.

Monad Gate is weird and would take too much text in this post, just know that you either need to design the game around base 3* like right now because of how unreliable it is to ever +* (even bond data is very rng and unreliable let alone +*) which means you can’t design enemies that require transcended stuff, or you add in shop options to buy *. Refer to Brown Dust 2 Tower of Salvation for reference on how to successfully design the end game, no need to copy.

Using power creep to sell isn’t an issue in itself, it’s whether the devs slap it on a character created with a lot of love, exceptional effort basically. If the character isn’t loved then it’s just a tool but if it’s a well received character conversely it only adds to the charm. A good example of this is FGO’s Gilgamesh. As a hero that basically came along with launch roughly he should have long been powercrept into oblivion but the devs always keep him at least somewhat meta with continuous upgrades. The result isn’t a loss of sales, rather new players gravitated towards whaling him all the time even if he’s old as fuck because his character has appeal, and that’s a fucking dude. On the flip side you got dragon ball with a bajillion Gogeta/Vegitto/etc clones and Dokkan still makes money. So the lesson here is building a character and not a product. So long as the character is great, sales is natural.

don't worry she's infinitely better than Delta in that department, my Delta has great gear but my G. Viella is nearly doubling that on normal attacks even before you consider poison. have them both at 6* so they have the same +30% hp.

Oh so Viella has good ratios, nice. I’m just curious now that I have her 4*and Dluna 4* who should I focus on getting to 5* or maybe just save again and wait for the next limited. I don’t plan on using ether on premium either since there’s limited banners for cheaper.

G.Viella's 5* affects her more than D.Luna's, since D.Luna's b3 costs so much... but I'd still get Luna's between the two. she's so damn strong and that's one step closer to her 6* which is absurd
i dickrolled 6* viella but it cost me EVERYTHING and she's very good, but not busted, so I can't recommend that many copies on her.
