GFL fell off hard since the game is not good and it's only pretty graphically, even the story got dumbed down. There were high hopes for it and it did 20 million on release on global but it was not going to last, it's dry of content and stops being an strategy game half way through.

From what I've tried, Ridge and Iris were the only ones that did decent boosts for Chixia's summons, since they need to be boosts not related to (main tekker) or "x" element type damage.
I do not have Mistique or Minova, so I don't know if they could possibly offer better buffs as support, likely not since they seem to be damage dealers of their own.
Go with Chixia's dragon build and the "burst on nuke" potential, the synergy with Kasimira's spammable main skill should be obvious after that.
And maybe you could go a bit further and try Flora, since my Kasimira wasn't leveled, she really was just a nuke on skill bot coupled with ignis damage amplification.

Refining does actually increase the 2nd base stat (%Ele damage in this case) in this game, so yes it will be way better than Freesia's in the long run since you can actually max it eventually.
Freesia's is also better as sub since %Skill damage is more universal.
