Any general advice to give me? I cleared chapter 1 without too many issues aside from barely dying to the last boss once (still gutted about that).
I generally wanna know what I should be doing with my rolls. I don't know what I should save for (if I should save at all) and general team building. Running Uvhash, Helot, Ramona, and Ogier. It's decent enough but I probably wanna transition to full Caro. I know that Aequor is recommended for starting out but I find Helot an extremely satisfying combo character (if you can even call her that).

If you're interested in learning which characters are used at endgame you can check the in game phantasmal dive ladder.
When it comes to Caro, their most meta character is Thais who is an insane support, followed by Helot: Catena (typically called GHelot) who is a dps and an alt of your Helot.
Hard to say who you should be saving for, just play the game at your own pace and use the support feature that lets you borrow characters from other players and you'll eventually figure out who you'll want to get. Also keep in mind we'll be getting our anniversary in a couple of weeks with an aequor character that's expected to be pretty strong (GMurphy) so no need to rush.

Having one-two chaos character is generally good for act one since you get Death Resistance to 100%. D-tide is major source of silver once newbie freebies run out and you need 5 teams for that. So you have to branch out eventually.

Regular pulls are plentiful just by playing the game. People willingly subject themself to the "Wheel Jail" experience trying to get both Titan's blade and Incalculable factor to +12. Since having one SSR WoD at +12 allows you to slot another SSR WoD. But you should be fine even with SSR + SR combined. The value of that shit is mostly hard mode/lategame content. Luminous Cores on contrary allow you to pull on current event character/wheel banner and you should always spend your silver on them. As for where to invest. Current new character Pollux is mostly okay, Castor on other hand is very strong. Next re-run line up features Tawill one of the strongest chaos characters in the game. Both Castor and Tawil's wheels are also great since they increase hand size limit. Which is very rare. But as anon said. Anniversary is very soon. And Gmurph might be worth saving for.

I feel like I've failed if I'm getting a death. I tried looking at the Caro units and most of them if I recall were DPS units. There was a DoT unit, too, which seems very interesting. I think I also have a Chaos (?) DoT as well so I'd be interested in building a DoT team because there's a clear vision there. alternatively you could throw some rolls at aequor standard to get a few copies of Caecus (until E3) and Goliath (until E2) while getting some copies of Celeste and other aequor units along the way
I suggested the support feature just so you could try a variety of character at different levels of investment before committing to them with your own rolls.

Before maxxing out Titan's blade I'd pull on the standard banner to get more units. Local endgame, D-tide, requires at least 5 full teams so you'll need standard units to fill up your roster anyway
And you don't need two SSR wheels on your DPS for arc 1 normal mode, especially because R wheels are pretty strong there - go and read their effects, a lot of them are quite useful. Since you're playing Caro I'd really recommend slapping a Gluttony R WoD on one of your characters, it allows you to increase your max hp. Frenzy+Greed+Emerge is often used too as it allows you to buy OP relics easily. And Whisper helps to recover your aliemus between battles

Seeing that characters and weapons can have so many dupes is off-putting. How do you feel about the system? Limited banners don't get added to the standard pool, right? Do we get enough limited rolls to get a bunch of dupes, too?

I think it's cringe, but it's somewhat alleviated by the fact that we get a free monthly dupe for any unit and WoD so over time you can get key dupes for your limiteds without pulling, and most characters don't need to go beyond E3. You can find those in the sediment shop - they're called Timeloop and Prototype Horizon, be sure to buy those every month
Standard units are easy to max out since we get a ton of standard pulls. And during annis we get a special item that allows you to reset any character for a bunch of standard dupes. Let's say you had shit luck and got yourself an E12 Alva, with that thing you can reset her and get 12 standard dupes that you can use on better standards

They do but slowly. Some former limiteds are in the standard banner now: Tulu, Murphy, Sorel, Salvador, Daffodil, Lily, 24, albeit with lower rates

Uvhash is exalt spammer that scales with embryo devouring. His 3 cost card only good when you fight at low HP. He is good if you invest in him. But that's the case for almost any character tbhdesu. This is also why a lot of Caro character want Thais.

The assigned role usually don't matter as much. Caro has two supports Leigh, very poor stats and cards are kinda meh. And Faint shitload of Death Resistance. But has weird counter playstyle which Caro can't support atm. It's not meta reason. They just don't have a single counter dedicated character outside of Faint. Mostly used for her exalt. Agrippa is very interesting character. She is "tank" that doesn't provide a lot of shield or inflict a lot poison. But the only source of permanent alert in game, plus her exalt gives STR and she can reduce cost of expensive cards.

It's considered relatively whale-ish because they are all limited, 24 is fine at E1, but Myriam wants E2. Lily ideally wants E3 down the line, and GDoll is the one real whalebait character in the game, as she gets way better at OE (SEVEN DUPES).
Right now I'm at E1 24, E1 Lily, E2 Myriam, I have a Gdoll but she's basically un-built at only one copy now: when I can borrow a built GDoll in event stages the team is orders of magnitude stronger.

Caro has unique feature called Furnace (the red circle on your left) you use it to heal. This is why a lot of their units mostly focused on offense. Ultra is actually only realm who don't have dedicate standard healer. Actually they only have one healer and she is limited.

Depends really. Aequor is a good start. But you will need to branch out eventually. So having some experience is good.

Yeah, story mode is often about finding the best way to abuse chapter gimmicks
One of the reasons why chapter 5 is a bit of a difficulty spike is the fact that it has a fairly useless gimmick that doesn't help you much and the fact that new players usually speedrun those early chapters and their HP is a bit too low to tank the final boss there because your total HP is tied to your account level, for whatever reason (that's why Gluttony is such a good WoD in arc 1, it gives you more HP that you desperately need). So if you hit the wall around that point but want to do it deathless - just give it some time and build your characters in the meantime, it'll get easier

Flares? Most of his guides are fine, though I wouldn't listen to him blindly (he's wrong about Clem, for one)

Caro is actually one of the best realms in the endgame, and the cheapest one at that. E3 Ghelot paired with E2 Thais can do the hardest content in the game just fine, you just need to learn how to balance your HP management. It's Aequor that falls off in the damage department without heavier investment

It's mostly Uvhash. There are other character that benefit from low health, but this can be somewhat neglected in favour of not dying. This is why Caro has Faint or some people running Celeste (Aequor) for her exalt and faster deck cycling thanks to her retain.

The game is pretty generous with rolls but don't forget it takes 16 copies to max out a character, or at least 8 to unlock their full kit. And a single copy of a limited character can take upwards of 90 pulls if you get unlucky.
Not that I'm complaining, 200 pulls basically guarantees you the anniversary character and their wheel with 50 rolls to spare so that's pretty nice.

The one I got it with was a team of Aigis/Celeste and a lvl 90 Doresain I got from someone that basically one shot most fights except the elite and the boss. Last slot can be Thais or any defensive option from caro/aequor, like Faint, Salvador or Murphy for example. Just increase enemy damage until 1.75x score multiplier which gets you enough points to get all rewards if you fulfill all conditions (8 items and boss killed within a certain number of turns).

Anni is coming up so you might wanna save, though Castor is pretty good if you wanna try for him. Timeless Call is alright if you want a specific limited unit/wheel or wanna try fishing for dupes of a specific character but its pretty whale bait especially right before anni.
Monthly and battle pass are good deals if you wanna spend, outside of that you might wanna check the doc to see what's good value. Or just check the doc in general for general account progression.

Set your standard banner to Aequor and pull there until you get a few copies of Caecus (ideally to E3) and Goliath (ideally to E2). Other Aequor units are decent too so don't be disappointed if you get them. After that you can move to the standard wheel banner where you should select the Titan Blade and stay there until you have it at +12.
Your silver and limited pulls can go towards whatever unit you like, they're all decent, however we have anniversary in a couple of weeks so you might want to hold your resources until then. Alternatively, Castor is a fairly strong unit running currently so you could go for him and his wheel if you'd like. People don't have a very high opinion of Pollux but I personally like him a lot and think he's very fun and decently strong so he can be an option too if you like Ultra as a realm and want a dps from there.
The best thing you could spend your money on is the monthly subscription thing that gives you silver every day. I'm not sure which packages are worth it but the google doc in the op has links to a few guides and of those, Flares's guide has a breakdown of what's worth buying from the cash shop.
As for other tips, see if you can get enough redix sediment to buy the Prototype Horizon from the sediment exchange shop before it resets in 2 days because it's a very valuable item that lets you get a dupe for any limited character. There's also a similar item called Timeloop Copy from the same shop that you should also get if possible but it's not too important if you can't.

Pull on the standard banner, no reason to hoard those, the game showers you in standard pulls. All colors have useful characters so I'd dip into them all early on, you'll need more characters for D-tide (endgame) anyway and most standard units have at least some use later on, plus it's more fun to have more stuff to play around with (though on average blue is better because it doesn't have bricks like Alva)

The majority of threads are very similar to this general. I am personally in 3 slower ones and I have to bump every single one of them. The meta of the board just sucks - my primary general is /akg/ and in there it is about quantity over quality. Who cares if 50 posts are straight up shitposts, zoomerbrains need the surge of fast threads or the game is dead. Usually in Morimens so far, a new character will underperform, leading to them getting buffed a couple weeks after their banner started. Feels like the devs always try to lowball a new character's kit before releasing them, watch how people use them, and then buff accordingly. In a way it keeps awakeners from ever getting nerfed; only buffed into their intended place in the game.

The designs for Morimens aren't TOO out there, but there's a consistent them with several of them that I really like, that being missing parts of their bodies despite their clothes clearly covering something physical. Also the characters having things attatched to them that are relevant to their theme (pic related is Nautila, a mechanic with robot arms; Clementine is a therapist with hypnosis pendulums; Hameln is an music conductor with levers from instruments in his back; Sanga is a sculptor seemingly growing choral out of her body; etc.)
