I'm starting to realize the Avengers comparison is pretty apt. Nikke actually is a lot like comic books, in that nobody fucking stays dead. Though, ironically enough that description does not really apply to the MCU movies. Unlike the comics they have been pretty good about killing people off and leaving them dead. But that's easier to do when your format is a couple movies per year.
It does make sense for a gacha game. Most of them don't have the balls to kill off characters while still having them be playable, so you end up with this ever-ballooning roster of plot-armored characters. And if you kill off an NPC and people say "But I wanna recruit her!" then this happens.

There are simply too many characters in focus, and it’s hurting the writing and development. Cindy and Grave both had meaningful, personal interactions with SKK since they were the only focus of their Arc, which meant the writing could dedicate it to them. Grave’s trust in SKK, for instance, was built gradually through effort and connection by SKK. The focus used to be more on SKK developing a bond with the Nikke. Lately, though, it feels like this aspect (NikkexCommander) has weakened overall in the main story, because new characters keep getting introduced, and more attention goes to NikkexNikke instead.
I can’t be the only one who’s noticed this. Liberalio got plenty of time to connect with SKK in this update, but others were left behind. Levi’s story was dumped on Siren, which was incredibly unsatisfying from a player's perspective. We go through all that build-up and effort to tear down Levi's walls, only to dump it all on someone else in the resolution. You didn't break through to her. SKK could have done nothing and just used Siren from the start, and it would have resolved pretty similarly. Levi already knew you were good people; she just didn't trust herself not to schiz out like a woman. It would have been nice if you managed to break through to Levi, and Siren showed up thereafter to deal the final blow. As it stands, it just feels very unsatisfying to me.

Oh, and Mori goes to show why she is the single worst character in Nikke right now by continuing everything that I hated about her in 2.5 in terms of writing. Her forced involvement with OT is just revolting to me.
