In a certain way Van is the ultimate gaming hero because he fights against the stupidity and destruction of the Trails series looming over Zemuria. I wonder whether Joshua will be happy that Karin was going to die anyway and that their suffering was an irrelevant footnote in the Falcom circus.

Well, it remains to be seen what kind of lunacy they pull off with Water and Wind. Probably in a single arc and maybe they're fused to provide the drying/erosion in the East.

The problem is that it needs to get even dumber and more devastating than the current freakshow and the bar was set pretty high.

If we think back:
Space/Mirage were mastercrafted stories which told very intelligent narratives in a non-haughty manner and were able to reach you because they were built around credible individuals with a down-to-earth perspective.
Then it became 3D and of course they lost their shit. They merged Fire and Earth into this uber-evil bastard who conveniently produced a curse, that had even the guys behind Hamel be actually cute and nice, just this evil bastard and the curse made Erebonia look bad.
So after that shitshow was over they went on to Time and drew some bigger and more apocalyptic asshole out of their hat instead of, for example, having Roy look for the Sept-Terrion to revive his wife and save Agnes. Now seemingly even Ouroboros' name and iconography is just dedicated to the shit box.
Given that everything looks like the climax of Zemuria's destiny, how do you go beyond that?

Here's an idea: The Grand Odyssey CD has 19999"-XXXXX" in its name. If that has a meaning maybe the Eternal Recurrence Plan is meant to corrupt the Reset and transport everybody (guiding fire) to an entirely new 20,000 Zemuria.

If the last Sept-Terrions are in the South and East, that would otherwise force them to set the last games in deserts and Chinese wastelands, so I expect they go for a transformation of the world.

What if this happened: Prior to the original S.1259 humans built a lunar colony. It then declared independence and the rest didn't have it, so a war broke out. The lunar nation shot the bio-nanomachines on the planet to hijack monsters (there was something coming for Risette's people and she was severely hurt, although this could have been Laegjarn's drones) and the planetary civilization started bombarding the moon with nukes which went too far. As a result you had a dinosaur extinction-tier event and they used Laegjarn to seal Zemuria off and trap it in a loop so that similar destruction could not occur again. There is probably a space station out there from where the Saints of the End come, but the rest of the Beyond is now gone and turned into hell. McBurn escaped to the only safe place (the Zemuria bubbleverse) but lost the memory why he fled.

P.S. I hope my theory is not(!) true. But it's probably more logical than half of the planet being gone and the debris is there for a reason. Perhaps boils down to the color of the debris?

I have always wondered why the Celestrial Globe seems to react to the Grandmaster's presence by filling the empty background with a starry sky. This is more pronounced in Sky III than in CS4. Because it certainly isn't some fancy effect she uses to impress her underlings the meaning is probably connected to the fact that the universe is invisible from Zemuria.

Cs2 and cs4 have less slice of life stuff and less character development in story conversations compared to cs1 and cs3. The two games make it so that important development and characterization is stuck in the bonding events. Cs4, Kuro 2, and Kai are the main culprits of this as well so I would recommend save scumming and seeing all of them

Sure they are, it would be sad if they weren't given that Crossbell only has two of those.
But so are Erebonia's villages and towns. How are any of those "copy-pasted"?
Celdic is a small village with houses built from wooden frames and a huge market with stands and a pavillon to the side.
Bareahard is a classic, traditional city straight out of the rennaissance built from stone with unique districts which separate the commoners from the nobility.
Ymir is a snowy village on top of a mountain, visually unlike any other area in eastern Erebonia.
The Nord Highlands has two areas inhabited by nomads who live in literal yurts you won't find anywhere else in Zemuria.
Legram looks like a relic from the middle ages with yet again a unique, classic architecture representing its roots in the war of the lions.
Heimdallr consists of almost as many districts as Crossbell City and is built from a visually outstanding vermillion stone, which fits its name to a T. But there's also a downtown district, a luxurious park and a noble district that visually portray the history of class divide within the capitol.
Roer is a technological fortress and looks unlike any other city in Erebonia. Huge escalators, elevators and skyscrapers form the rather modern cityscape.
There're landmarks outside of the towns and villages as well, like the gigantic fortress at the Two Dragons Bridge, Garrelia Fortress, Lohengrin Castle or the monuments near Ymir and the Nord Highlands.
And that's just eastern Erebonia.

This, basically. Cold Steel 1 introduced a ton of unique locations, and Cold Steel 2 let you explore these locations and even more without any limitations. You get access to the full highways, which weren't accessible before, and later on the Courageous to revisit places.
It reminded me of the approach in the Sky games, a sense of exploration I missed in Crossbell. Who cares about the police academy or Armorica if their NPCs never contribute anything of note to the plot? As someone who always speaks to every NPC, Crossbell was multitudes worse than Erebonia.

Cold steel is a decent to good arc. People just hyper focus on the harem and misinterpret the antagonists and the curse due to watching a speedrun stream in a different language so they can’t critically look at the arc. van is pretty good you learn more about him in kai after the character development you get in kuro 1. Now the ending of kai is a catalyst for van to finally confront vagrants. Besides kuro 2 I think van is a solid character very good mc. You get a good amount of him but not too much so others can have good screentime too. Instead of just Rean being a chosen one this arc takes the different approach of having two chosen ones van and agnes. It combines skys mc and partner with cold steels chosen one creating a nice blend of the two. Im sure kai 2 will be the best kiseki game surpassing the likes of sc and azure
